Matsuya Gifu Noritake Store: Late-Night Suspension Notice Disappears, Returns to "24-Hour Operation"

The operating hours listings for two Matsuya stores in Gifu Prefecture — Matsuya Gifu Noritake Store (1799) and Matsuya Kitagatacho Store (1796) — have been updated on the official Matsuya website. At Gifu Noritake Store, all the late-night suspension notes (“*Temporarily Closed”) that had been attached to the operating hours listing have been removed, and as of August 17 the listing shows only “24-hour operation.” Kitagatacho Store, on the other hand, continues to have late-night suspensions set, with the affected dates shifted from late August to early September. The late-night suspension schedules for seven Gifu stores, including both of these, had just been updated in a batch on August 15 — making this another update just two days later.
Gifu Noritake Store: Late-Night Suspension Notice Removed
Gifu Noritake Store’s operating hours listing has repeatedly carried “*Temporarily Closed” schedules suspending late-night operation. The most recent listing read “24-hour operation *Temporarily Closed 8/16, 8/17, 8/28, 8/30: 10pm to 8am the next day, 8/29: 4am to 9am, last order 30 minutes before close,” with late-night suspensions set for multiple dates in late August.
This latest update has removed the note entirely, leaving the listing showing only “24-hour operation.” As of the most recent update, the late-night suspension schedule has disappeared from the official website altogether. That said, since these dates have repeatedly been set and revised in the past, there remains a possibility that a suspension schedule will be posted again in the future.
Kitagatacho Store: Affected Dates Shift to Late August–Early September
In contrast to Gifu Noritake Store, Kitagatacho Store’s late-night suspensions continue. The listing was rewritten from “24-hour operation *Temporarily Closed 8/16: 2am to 9am, 8/17: 1am to 8am, 8/25: 4am to 8am, 8/26: 10pm to 9am the next day, last order 30 minutes before close” to “24-hour operation *Temporarily Closed 8/24: 2am to 8am, 8/25: 0am to 8am, 8/26: 0am to 9am, 8/31: 0am to 8am, 9/1: 1am to 9am, last order 30 minutes before close.”
The affected dates have shifted as a block from mid-August to August 24 through September 1, now spanning across the month boundary. There have been past instances of suspension schedules crossing a month boundary, so this update falls within that established range.
Background on the Late-Night Suspension Schedule
Among Matsuya’s 1,211 stores nationwide, only 46 carry a late-night suspension schedule in their operating hours listing. Gifu Noritake Store and Kitagatacho Store were both among this minority, but Gifu Noritake Store has now dropped out of that group.
Both stores are located in Gifu Prefecture, with Gifu Noritake Store (Noritake-nishi, Gifu City) and Kitagatacho Store (Kitagatacho, Motosu District) situated about 5.65km apart in a straight line.
Late-night suspension schedules in the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku areas have repeatedly been updated in batches covering substantial numbers of stores. On August 15, a batch update spanning around 60 stores covered seven Gifu stores including both of these, and the changes at Gifu Noritake Store and Kitagatacho Store this time follow on from that.
