Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Store Changes from 24-Hour Operation to 7 AM–11 PM
A change has been confirmed in the store data for Matsuya Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Store (Shinjuku Sumitomo Building B1, 2-6-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku Ward), which had been scheduled to open on April 21.
| Item | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Operating Hours | 24-hour operation | 7 AM–11 PM |
| Opening Date Notation | Opens April 21 at 10 AM | Removed |
The operating hours, originally registered as 24-hour operation, have been changed to 7 AM–11 PM. Given the store’s location in the basement of an office building, the change appears to have been made to align with the building’s own operating hours.
In addition, the opening date notation has been removed from the store name, but at this time it is unclear whether the April 21 opening itself has been cancelled or the notation was simply cleaned up.
Editor's Note
Ritsumeikan Daimae Store made its comeback on schedule, bringing Kyoto's count of Matsunoya co-located stores to two. The Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Store's hours may have been adjusted to match the realities of its office-building setting.
