Matsuya's Official X Account Announces Two Teppan-Grilled Bowls Launching August 11, Including the Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl

On the evening of August 7, 2026, at 6 p.m., Matsuya’s official X account announced two new bowls going on sale at 10 a.m. on August 11: the Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl and Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl. The post says that “a blissful bowl of beef seared fragrantly on a teppan griddle is on its way” and presents the two as hearty, filling dishes. The launch was already announced in a notice on Matsuya’s official website dated August 6, and this post retells that announcement in the official X account’s own voice.

Two Dishes Seared Fragrantly on a Teppan Griddle

The image attached to the post carries the bold slogan “Iron Plate, Straight to the Point.” In the upper part, beef sizzles and steams on a teppan griddle, and the bowls in the center are heaped with toppings. The left half, the Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl, is topped with what appears to be green Garlic Scape and sesame seeds, while the right half, Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl, is topped with chopped green onion, onion and sesame seeds. The layout is composed so that one image lets you compare the two dishes side by side.

According to the notice on the official website, the Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl costs 990 yen, and Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl costs 600 yen (Small Serving), 630 yen (Regular Serving) or 850 yen (Large Serving). The “630 yen” shown in the image is the Regular Serving of the Yakiniku Beef Bowl. The bowls are available at Matsuya stores nationwide, excluding some stores, and go on sale from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11.

A Classic Yakiniku Flavor in Bowl Form, and a Novel Offal Dish

The “yakiniku beef” in Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl is the same seasoning currently served in the Set Meal of Grilled Beef (890 yen) and the Yakiniku Beef Fresh Vegetable Salad Set (850 yen), now presented in bowl style. “Boneless Short Rib” yakiniku is also on the current menu as the Set Meal of Grilled Boneless Short Rib (890 yen), and on June 8 Matsuya’s official X account posted an eating report on that set meal, calling it “one of the classic menu items.” The new bowl can be seen as a way to enjoy the flavor of classic yakiniku in an easier, more casual bowl.

The Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl, on the other hand, is an eye-catching presence among Matsuya’s bowls. Across both the regular menu and the Store-limited menu, dishes using offal are rare, so turning teppan-grilled offal into a bowl is a fresh combination. It is also the first time since the pork-based Original Salt-based Green Onion Thick Pork Boneless Short Rib Bowl (690 yen), which disappeared in April, that a bowl with “Boneless Short Rib” in its name has appeared in the bowl category, so a short rib bowl is joining Matsuya’s lineup for the first time in a while.

An Announcement Rolled Out in Four Stages

Matsuya has built up to these two dishes step by step. On August 4, the line “※To be discontinued successively” was added to the description of the New Grilled Beef Bowl (690 yen), which had been sold since March 2026 on Matsuya’s official website. On the morning of August 5, the official X account teased a successor with “A new menu item to replace the New Grilled Beef Bowl is coming…?!”, and the notice on August 6 formally announced the launch of the Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl and Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl. Then, on the evening of August 7, this post announced the launch once again, this time with photos of the actual dishes. That said, the official website does not state that these two dishes are successors to the New Grilled Beef Bowl; the only link is the overlap in timing.

On the official X account, the announcement thumbnail image for the same two dishes was also swapped from an illustration to a photo of the actual dishes at midday on August 7, so the visuals keep shifting to the real thing as the launch approaches. With August 11 just around the corner, the two new bowls built around the fragrant aroma of teppan grilling are about to arrive at Matsuya stores nationwide.
