The mixed-use commercial facility “TOFROM YAESU TOWER” opened on September 10, with “Matsuya TOFROM Yaesu Store” (2277) and the co-located “Matsunoya & My Curry Shokudo TOFROM Yaesu Store” opening on the 1st floor. Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) reported this the same night, along with photos of the storefront.

‘Matsuya Returns to Yaesu’ — Official X Reports the Opening with Photos

The official X account announced, “‘Matsuya TOFROM Yaesu Store’ and ‘Matsunoya & My Curry Shokudo TOFROM Yaesu Store’ have opened in TOFROM YAESU TOWER, which opened today!” and continued, “Matsuya returns to Yaesu!!!” and “We even got an ‘Itadakiyaesu’ sticker (╹◡╹).”

The trailing “!!!” and the emoticon “(╹◡╹)” are the account’s go-to expressions of excitement, repeatedly used in past posts celebrating openings and new products, and this post follows the same pattern. “Itadakiyaesu,” meanwhile, is an opening-exclusive wordplay combining Yaesu with “itadakimasu” (a phrase said before eating), and the same lettering appears on the sticker handed out at the store.

At the storefront, Matsuya’s yellow signage is lit up, with the word “MATSUYA” on the glass frontage. Congratulatory flower stands for the opening stand beside the entrance, and on the adjacent pillar hangs a large ad featuring a woman in traditional Japanese dress holding a fork, reading “Itadakiyaesu!” and “The long-awaited Shop&Restaurant60 has finally opened.”

Open 24 Hours, Morning Set Meals Starting at 350 Yen

According to the in-store signage, Matsuya TOFROM Yaesu Store is located on the 1st floor of TOFROM YAESU TOWER at 1-6-1 Yaesu, Chuo Ward, Tokyo, and is open 24 hours. Morning Set Meals, available only from 5:00 to 11:00 a.m., start at 350 yen, and the store has table seating. Set Meals and Morning Set Meals come with a free upgrade to a Large Serving or Extra-large Serving of rice, and a Kids’ Menu (with original goods) is also offered. The poster displays photos of the Beef Bowl and the “Umatoma Hamburg Steak Set Meal,” alongside information about a coupon on the reverse side.

The location is a prime spot just steps from Tokyo Station’s Yaesu Central Exit, close to Daimaru Tokyo Store and Sakura-dori as well. The “Itadakiyaesu” sticker was photographed alongside this announcement poster.

Matsunoya & My Curry Shokudo Also Opens at the Same Time, Co-located

On the same 1st floor, “Matsunoya & My Curry Shokudo TOFROM Yaesu Store” also opened at the same time as a co-located store. It combines Matsunoya, known for tonkatsu, and My Curry Shokudo, known for curry, into a single storefront, with congratulatory flower stands lined up outside. The windows display a sign reading “Store-limited: Free Rice & Miso Soup Refills (All Set Meals)” and an announcement for a “Free Refills” sale to mark the opening.

About a Month from Announcement to Opening

This Yaesu store had been drawing attention even before its opening, ever since the official X account posted a photo of the glass-walled “MATSUYA” signage on August 6. It was listed on the store locator on August 17, with a September 10 opening date announced, but the opening time was pushed back from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the morning of the day itself. The announcement poster’s headline, which still reads “9.10 THURSDAY AM10:00 OPEN,” appears to reflect the wording from before this change.

Matsuya has also seen a string of new store openings since September began. On September 1, Musashimurayama Store reopened as a renewal with a co-located Matsunoya, followed by the opening of Seki Store in Gifu Prefecture on September 4, and then the Yaesu store on September 10. While most of these openings have been in regional or suburban areas, this latest one marks an entry into a prime central Tokyo location right by Tokyo Station.

Editor's Note

"Itadakiyaesu" is a pun so good it makes you do a double take. Knowing you can duck in any time, day or night, when hunger strikes near Tokyo Station is reassuring.
