It has been found that the latitude of Matsuya Oyama Kizawa store (No. 2313, 661-13 Oaza Kizawa, Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture), set to open at 10:00 a.m. on July 31, was lowered by 0.000001 degrees, from 36.344038 to 36.344037, by July 23. The store’s latitude has been consistently nudged southward since its registration on July 9, and this marks the fourth such adjustment. The repeated corrections are occurring at a new store that has yet to open.

Southward Four Times in a Row, Longitude Unchanged Throughout

The latitude of the Oyama Kizawa store has been gradually lowered from its registered value of 36.344041, as shown in the table below.

A latitude difference of 0.000001 degrees corresponds to about 11 centimeters at this location, meaning the four adjustments together add up to a shift of roughly 44 centimeters south. The store’s actual location has not moved; rather, the map coordinates appear to be undergoing a series of extremely minor adjustments.

Co-located with Matsunoya, the Second Store in Oyama City

Matsuya Oyama Kizawa store is a new store scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. on July 31, and it is registered as a store co-located with Matsunoya. Of the 11 Matsuya stores currently existing in Tochigi Prefecture, 10 are co-located with Matsunoya, making this the standard format within the prefecture.

The nearest Matsuya location is Matsuya Oyama store (No. 2096), also in Oyama City, about 5.1 kilometers away as the crow flies. With the opening of the Oyama Kizawa store, Oyama City will have its second Matsuya location. This is not Matsuya’s first entry into Tochigi Prefecture, but rather an additional store within the same city.
