Matsuya's Higashisumiyoshi Nakano Store and Another Location Switch to 24-Hour Operation

Two Matsuya locations, Higashisumiyoshi Nakano Store (0937) in Higashisumiyoshi Ward, Osaka City, and Kagoshima Shinei Store (2053) in Kagoshima City, have each switched their operating hours to 24-hour operation. Both stores’ listings on the official Matsuya website have been updated to reflect the new hours.

Higashisumiyoshi Nakano Store had previously operated from 5:00 AM to 2:00 AM the following day, leaving a gap between 2:00 and 5:00 AM when it was closed; that gap has now been eliminated, and the store is open around the clock. At Kagoshima Shinei Store, the Matsuya side was already open 24 hours, but the co-located My Curry Shokudo alone was restricted to 8:00 AM–10:00 PM. That time restriction has now been removed, unifying the entire store under 24-hour operation.

Two of Three Stores in Osaka’s Higashisumiyoshi Ward Now Open Around the Clock

With Higashisumiyoshi Nakano Store’s switch to 24-hour operation, two of the three Matsuya locations in Higashisumiyoshi Ward, Osaka City — Higashisumiyoshi Yuzato Store (0616) and Higashisumiyoshi Nakano Store — are now open around the clock. The remaining location, Harinakano Store (0166), operates from 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM the following day, making it the only store in the ward that isn’t open 24 hours.

Across Osaka Prefecture as a whole, 78 of Matsuya’s 111 locations are now open 24 hours, meaning roughly seven in ten stores in the prefecture operate around the clock.

All Six Matsuya Stores in Kagoshima Prefecture Now Open 24 Hours

Kagoshima Shinei Store is a combo store co-locating both Matsunoya and My Curry Shokudo, and within Kagoshima Prefecture, Shinei is the only location combining both of these brands. With the removal of My Curry Shokudo’s separate operating hours, all six Matsuya locations in Kagoshima Prefecture are now open 24 hours. Also within Kagoshima City is Kagoshima Usuki Store (1393), which co-locates Matsunoya.

A String of Switches to 24-Hour Operation

Matsuya has recently been switching stores across the country to 24-hour operation one after another. On July 21, Tsuruhashi Store and Fujiidera Ekimae Store in Osaka Prefecture moved to round-the-clock hours; on July 31, Iwade Store and Kainan Store in Wakayama Prefecture followed suit. Just on August 12, Yamanashi Ryuo Store in Yamanashi Prefecture and Echizen Sempuku Store in Fukui Prefecture switched to 24-hour operation in quick succession.

At the same time, Iwade Store, which co-locates My Curry Shokudo, reverted to its original operating hours just two days after switching to 24-hour operation in late July, showing that a move to round-the-clock hours doesn’t necessarily stick. The switches at Higashisumiyoshi Nakano Store and Kagoshima Shinei Store appear to be part of this broader nationwide trend.
