Matsuya's Official X Account Shares a Tidbit: Staff Call the Samgyetang-style Soup "Samuge" or "Getan" In-Store
On July 3, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) shared a lighthearted bit of trivia about the Samgyetang-style Soup, launched in June, noting that “in stores, it’s sometimes called ‘Samuge’ and sometimes ‘Getan.’”
“Samuge” or “Getan”?
Samgyetang is a Korean soup made by simmering chicken. Matsuya’s official menu name for the dish is “Samgyetang-style Soup,” but according to the post, staff in stores sometimes shorten it to “Samuge” or “Getan.” It’s a relaxed, behind-the-scenes kind of story — the same bowl of soup going by different nicknames depending on who’s serving it.
Samgyetang-style Soup Costs 330 Yen, With Set Discounts Available
The Samgyetang-style Soup launched on June 23 as a 330-yen side soup sold on its own, made with daikon radish, carrot, and tofu. When paired with a staple menu item as a “Samgyetang-style Soup Set,” the discount comes in three tiers depending on the combination: 30 yen off staple Beef Bowl items, 50 yen off staple Bowl items, and 70 yen off staple Set Meal items. Takeout is also available.
