The move was announced in an official notice dated July 6, bringing back a long-loved item to the regular menu in response to customer requests. The price is 850 yen (tax included), available at Matsuya locations nationwide except for some stores.

A Long-Awaited Return to the Regular Menu from the “Pork Loin” Series

According to the official notice, this Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal marks a comeback from Matsuya’s “Pork Loin” series, described as “a long-awaited return to the regular menu in response to customer requests.” The pork loin, known for its fine, tender texture and the sweetness of its fat, is grilled all at once on a griddle to lock in a savory aroma, then coated in a ginger flavor with real punch. The promotional visual touts it as “Matsuya’s new staple, rich in sweetness with the aroma of ginger and garlic,” highlighting the scent of garlic alongside the ginger.

Set Meal at 850 Yen, Double at 1,340 Yen — Plus an Only Option and Takeout

Prices are tax included, and the following lineup is available:

• Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal Double: 1,340 yen

• Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Double (Only): 1,280 yen

Takeout is also available, in which case miso soup is charged separately. Shareholder benefit coupons can be used for the “Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal” and “Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce.” The Double option, which doubles the amount of meat, is offered for both the Set Meal and the Only item — a lineup built for going through plenty of rice.

A “Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Bowl” Once Existed, Too

Looking back at Matsuya’s past notices, a new “Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce Bowl” was announced in April 2013. Having once been offered in bowl form as well, the ginger-and-soy-sauce pork stir-fry now returns to the regular lineup as a set meal. Since pork loin stir-fried with ginger soy sauce is a familiar dish at home dinner tables too, it’s expected to settle in as a new standard.
