On the night of August 13, Matsuya’s official X account posted photos of topping the “Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl,” released on August 11, with a soft-boiled egg. The post read, “I’m the type who wants to add a soft-boiled egg to any rice bowl” and “Doesn’t a soft-boiled egg just feel like a treat? (laughs)” It also mentioned the service vouchers currently being distributed.

Priced at 990 Yen: A Bowl Combining Beef Short Rib and Offal

The Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl launched on August 11 at 990 yen, featuring beef short rib and offal stir-fried together in a sweet-savory sauce, topped with garlic sprouts and white sesame seeds. A bowl that puts offal front and center is unusual for Matsuya, and the official account positioned it as a limited-time item released alongside another new bowl at launch. Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl also went on sale the same day, August 11.

In this post, the official account showed the bowl topped with a soft-boiled egg. With the runny yolk mingling with the sweet-savory sauce and meat, the account revealed a personal preference for breaking the yolk over the dish, writing, “I want to add a soft-boiled egg to any rice bowl” and “Doesn’t a soft-boiled egg just feel like a treat?”

Collect Three for a Free Small Serving Boneless Short Rib: The Service Vouchers Being Distributed

In the latter half of the post, the account also called attention to the service vouchers currently being distributed, writing, “Service vouchers are being handed out!! Collect three and get a free Small Serving Boneless Short Rib! I’m collecting them!!” The photo shows the actual service vouchers in the front right of the tray, with free vouchers for Small Serving Potato Salad, Small Serving Kimchi, and Roasted Seaweed lined up side by side. The vouchers are marked as valid through the end of September 2026.

These service vouchers are given out with the purchase of a main menu item, and on the customer’s next visit, one of Small Serving Potato Salad, Small Serving Kimchi, or Roasted Seaweed becomes free. Collecting three vouchers also earns a free serving of Small Serving Boneless Short Rib. Distribution runs from 10:00 a.m. on August 11 to 10:00 a.m. on August 25.
