Matsuya's Official X Posts "Now (╹◡╹)" With a Photo of "Matsuya Shokudo," a Meidaimae Complex Uniting 5 Brands
At 11:25 AM on September 23, 2026, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted a single photo along with the line “Now (╹◡╹).” The post consists of only these seven characters, with no words explaining the destination or purpose of the visit.
The Photo: “Matsuya Shokudo Meidaimae Store,” a Complex in Tokyo’s Meidaimae
The photo shows the exterior of “Minna no Shokutaku (Everyone’s Dining Table) Matsuya Shokudo Meidaimae Store” (TRN Meidaimae, 1-36-7 Matsubara, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo), a complex in front of Meidaimae Station in Setagaya, Tokyo. At the center of the building hangs a large sign reading “Minna no Shokutaku Matsuya Shokudo,” accompanied by the Matsuya Foods logo.
Below that, at the entrance level, sit “Matsunoya” (tonkatsu) with its logo, “Matsuya” with its round logo, and “My Curry Shokudo” with its pot-shaped logo, arranged side by side. Above them is “Sutekiya Matsu” in white lettering on a red background, and to the right is a sign for “Steak x Salad Bar Meat & Health.” With Matsuya, Matsunoya, My Curry Shokudo, Sutekiya Matsu, and Meat & Health, the store brings together five Matsuya Foods brands under one roof, and its lineup made it a topic of conversation as the “complete form of Matsuya” when it opened. The building’s upper floors also house other tenants, including a billiards and darts establishment.
The official account has previously posted updates like “Matsuya Now” and “Late-night Matsuya Now,” but each of those included a store name or a follow-up line. This time, the post consists of only the line “Now (╹◡╹),” with the photo itself conveying who’s gathered at the scene. The emoticon “(╹◡╹)” at the end is an expression the official account regularly uses.
About an Hour Earlier: An Exchange Over Shkmeruli Ramen
About an hour before this post, at 10:25 AM the same day, the account had quoted a post from Teimuraz Lezhava, Ambassador of Georgia to Japan, that read, “Could someone please make Shkmeruli ramen for me?” and replied, “Shkmeruli ramen, understood. Please wait just a moment. (╹◡╹)” About an hour after that “please wait just a moment” came this “Now (╹◡╹)” along with the store photo.
Shkmeruli is a traditional Georgian dish. On June 16, 2026, Matsuya revived it for a limited time as part of the Worldwide Simultaneous Matsuya Shkmeruli Revival, a project marking the chain’s 60th founding anniversary, offering four items — Shkmeruli Hot Pot Set Meal, Shkmeruli Hot Pot Rice Set, Shkmeruli Set Meal, and Shkmeruli Rice Set — before ending sales by the end of June. The “Shkmeruli ramen” the ambassador mentioned this time is a name that has never appeared on Matsuya’s menu.
Editor's Note
With just the single word "Now (╹◡╹)," straight to Meidaimae's "complete form of Matsuya." Seeing this many Matsuya Foods signs gathered in one photo really is a sight to behold.
