Matsuya Takasaka Store Moves Opening Time Up to 5 AM, Expanding Hours to 21 Hours a Day

StoreUpdated

The operating hours of Matsuya Takasaka Store (0596) changed on September 25, with the opening time moved up three hours from the previous 8 AM to 5 AM. The closing time remains unchanged at 2 AM the following day (last order 20 minutes before closing, at 1:40 AM), expanding the store’s daily operating hours from 18 hours to 21 hours. The store information on the official website currently shows “5 AM to 2 AM the following day, last order 20 minutes before closing.”

Fourth Hours Change in Six Months

Matsuya Takasaka Store’s operating hours have continued to change on a short cycle recently, and this marks the fourth such change. Before April 16, the store operated from 8 AM to 2 AM the following day. On April 16, it shifted to a schedule with different opening and closing times by day of the week, and on June 1 it moved to a uniform 5 AM to 2 AM schedule every day. As of July 31, the opening time had reverted to 8 AM, but with this latest change on September 25, the store has returned to a 5 AM opening, adding the 5 AM to 6 AM time slot back into its operating hours.

Period Operating Hours
Before April 16 8 AM – 2 AM the following day
From April 16 Mon–Thu & holidays: 8 AM – 2 AM the following day / Fri: 8 AM – 3 AM the following day / Sat: 4 AM – 3 AM the following day / Sun: 4 AM – 2 AM the following day
From June 1 5 AM – 2 AM the following day
From July 31 8 AM – 2 AM the following day
From September 25 (this change) 5 AM – 2 AM the following day

The “5 AM to 2 AM the following day” listing itself is the same as the hours in place from June 1 through the end of July, but in between the store reverted to an 8 AM opening before expanding back to 5 AM — meaning the opening time has swung back and forth on a short cycle.

Three Stores in Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Ranks 4th Nationwide for Store Density

Matsuya Takasaka Store is located in Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture, where two other Matsuya locations also operate — Matsuya Higashimatsuyama Store (0422) and Matsuya Higashimatsuyama Ueno Main Store (1795) — bringing the city’s total to three stores. Saitama Prefecture has 103 Matsuya locations, making it the fourth most store-dense prefecture nationwide, after Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Osaka.

Matsuya Kawajima Store (0980), which shifted to day-of-week-based operating hours at the same time as Takasaka Store on April 16, went on to move to 24-hour operation at the end of June. Takasaka Store, by contrast, remains at 21-hour operation (5 AM to 2 AM the following day) even after this latest change, showing a difference in how far each store has extended its hours despite adjusting around the same time.

Since the start of September, a series of Matsuya locations across Saitama Prefecture have been extending their operating hours into the early morning and late-night time slots. This latest change at Takasaka Store also falls within this same period of hours expansions across the prefecture.
