Matsuya's Official X Marks 'ONE PIECE Day' With 'It's Feast Time at Matsuya Today,' Reaffirming the Ongoing Collab
At 11:50 a.m. on July 22, 2026, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted under the hashtag “July 22 is #ONE PIECE Day!”, calling attention to its ongoing collaboration campaign with the TV anime ONE PIECE. The post invited readers with “Enjoy a delicious beef bowl and celebrate this special day with us!” and “It’s feast time at Matsuya today!!”, spelling out the exact end time: “The Matsuya × TV anime ONE PIECE campaign is underway! Through 9:59 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6!”
July 22 marks the anniversary of the original ONE PIECE manga’s serialization debut in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997. Matsuya seized on the date to put its ongoing collaboration, running since June 30, back in the spotlight.
A Steaming Beef Bowl in a Collaboration Bowl
The image accompanying the post puts Matsuya’s beef bowl front and center. A white bowl is piled high with beef and onion, steam rising from the top. The side of the bowl carries collaboration artwork featuring the Straw Hat crew, including Luffy, evoking the “Original Collaboration Bowl” that has previously been offered as a lottery prize. The background is a radial design overlaid with a red X, with “MATSUYA” in vertical text on the left, “ONE PIECE” on the right, and the collaboration’s rights notice in the bottom right.
The large “29” reversed out in white at the center can be read as a playful nod to “niku” (meat) — a number wordplay fitting for a beef-centered chain like Matsuya. The “Original Collaboration Bowl” has been announced as a web lottery prize for 100 winners, and by making the bowl’s design the centerpiece of the photo, the composition lets a single beef bowl convey the collaboration’s whole world.
The Collaboration, Launched June 30, Reaches Its Mid-Run Announcement
The Matsuya × TV anime ONE PIECE collaboration began at 10:00 a.m. on June 30, 2026, and is scheduled to run through 9:59 a.m. on October 6. The “through 9:59 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6” in the post text matches that end time exactly. Counting from the launch, this post falls on exactly day 23, before the halfway point, with roughly 76 days remaining. It reads as a mid-point push to keep the momentum of the launch and announcement going.
At the core of the collaboration are the “ONE PIECE Sets,” which pair a beef bowl with a collaboration bonus item. There are six: the ONE PIECE Beef Bowl Set, ONE PIECE Kimchi Beef Bowl Set, ONE PIECE Oni-oroshi Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce Beef Bowl Set, ONE PIECE Cheese Beef Bowl Set, ONE PIECE Extra Green Onion Spicy-Savory Green Onion & Egg Beef Bowl Set, and ONE PIECE Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl Set. Regular Serving prices range from 660 yen for the ONE PIECE Beef Bowl Set to 890 yen for the ONE PIECE Umatoma Cheese Beef Bowl Set — 200 yen above the price of a regular beef bowl — and buyers receive one of the bonus “Original Acrylic Block Chopstick Rests” (12 designs in all). The “Giant Serving Set,” with three times the beef and onion of a Regular Serving, is listed among the same collaboration menu. All of these sets were still available as of July 22.
The call to action, “It’s feast time at Matsuya today!!”, can also be read as an echo of “en da” (it’s a feast) from the concurrent campaign Natsu da! En da! Daimanpuku Matsuri (It’s Summer! It’s a Feast! Big Full-Stomach Festival, June 30–August 18). The post layers the collaboration’s anniversary onto a push toward larger beef bowl servings to match summer appetites.
Kids’ Menu Bonus Item Switches on August 18
The collaboration also includes a bonus item given with Kids’ Menu orders. The first round runs from 10:00 a.m. on June 30 through 9:59 a.m. on August 18 and offers the “Original Sticker Sheet”; this first round was still being distributed as of July 22. Starting at 10:00 a.m. on August 18, it’s set to switch to the second round’s “Original Name Charm,” a changeover that lands right in the middle of the collaboration period. For anyone after the stickers, the first round’s deadline is the date to keep in mind.
Editor's Note
Celebrating an anniversary with a feast of beef bowls is a very Matsuya way to mark the occasion. The first run of stickers is available only through August 18, so grab them early if you're collecting.
