Notably, the name “Teriyaki Egg Chicken Set Meal” has appeared in past announcements as well, with release notices under the same name posted in 2015 and 2016. Since no product of that name currently appears on the menu, it can’t be determined whether today’s version is the same as those earlier ones.

What Happens Next for the Weekly Trial-Sale Rotation

The weekly rotation of “trial sale” items in Matsuya’s store-limited slot has, going back to the “Yatarazuke Beef Bowl” that began on May 5, now reached its eighth set with this release. Of the previous seven sets, two — the “Yatara” line and the “Hiyajiru / Chicken Nanban” line — went on to join the regular menu, and both ended their regular-menu run after roughly four to five weeks. Of these, the “Hiyajiru Chicken Nanban Set” and “Chicken Nanban Set Meal” were delisted from the official site’s menu this very morning, September 15.

The previous three items introduced from September 1 to 3 are also not currently found on the regular menu. Since store-limited items sometimes get promoted to the regular menu only after a delay following their trial sale, it remains to be seen how these two “Teriyaki Egg” items will fare based on future listing status.

A Familiar Opening Line Across Taste-Test Posts
