Matsuya's Store-Limited "Teriyaki Egg Hamburg Steak & Teriyaki Egg Chicken Set Meal" Launches 9/15

At 10:00 AM on September 15, 2026, Matsuya will release the store-limited “Teriyaki Egg Hamburg Steak Set Meal” (from 830 yen) and “Teriyaki Egg Chicken Set Meal” (980 yen). Both come in the “Teriyaki Egg” style, layering a runny soft-boiled fried egg over a sweet-and-savory teriyaki sauce, and will be available at 70 stores across 24 prefectures nationwide.

“Teriyaki Egg” refers to a flavor pairing of sweet-and-savory teriyaki sauce with egg, a name Matsuya has used before, including in the “Teriyaki Egg Chicken Set Meal” of 2015 and 2016 and the “Chunky Chicken Teriyaki Egg Bowl” of 2018. This time, it’s being rolled out as a store-limited item built around hamburg steak and chicken as the main dishes.

This time, the lineup consists of two items differing in main dish — hamburg steak and chicken.

The Tokyo metropolitan area alone — Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama — accounts for 38 stores, more than half the total, while Hokkaido, the Kyushu prefectures including Fukuoka, and Okinawa Prefecture are not included this time. Four Store-Limited Items Debut Together in the Same Listing

The “Teriyaki Egg Hamburg Steak & Teriyaki Egg Chicken Set Meal” is not appearing alone — the store-limited page lists four items all set to launch at the same time, 10:00 AM on September 15. Alongside this item (70 stores), the lineup includes “Chunky Chicken Marengo-style Set Meal (Fond de Veau)” and the Tomato version of the same dish, each at 35 stores, and “Pork Chap Set Meal” at 70 stores. Store-limited menus often rotate within a short span of being listed — three items that had occupied the store-limited slot until just before this, including “Mala Tofu Beef Bowl / Mala Cheese Hamburg Steak,” all ended their listing together on September 8. The four items this time represent the new lineup introduced roughly a week later. Going by the “Sales begin Tuesday, 9/15, 10:00 AM” notice on the announcement image, in-store availability is expected to begin at 10:00 AM that day.
