Matsuya to Open Permanent "Matsuya PREMIUM" Store at Matsuya Ginza B1F on June 10, With Kobe Beef Bowl Priced Up to 2,080 Yen
Matsuya Foods announced in an official notice dated June 1, 2026, that to commemorate its 60th founding anniversary, it will open its first-ever permanent department store location, “Matsuya PREMIUM Ginza Store,” at 11:00 AM on June 10, 2026 (Wed), in the bento and prepared foods section on the basement 1st floor of Matsuya Ginza. The store will offer a full lineup of 7 exclusive items made with carefully selected ingredients, including Kobe beef, domestic Japanese Black Wagyu beef, and domestic pork raised in snow country. | Category | Product | Price (tax included) |
|---|---|---|
| Kobe Beef Bowl | Kobe Beef Bowl | 1,390 yen |
| Kobe Beef Bowl | Double-Meat Kobe Beef Bowl | 2,080 yen |
| Hamburg Steak | Umatoma Hamburg Steak with Domestic Japanese Black Wagyu Beef | 1,681 yen |
| Pork Steak | Rich Snow Country-Raised Pork Steak | 1,681 yen |

| Curry and Rice | Founding Beef Rich Curry and Rice x Kobe Beef | 1,681 yen |
| Curry and Rice | Founding Beef Rich Curry and Rice x Black Wagyu Beef Hamburg Steak | 1,681 yen |
The lowest-priced item is the Founding Beef Rich Curry and Rice at 1,050 yen, and the highest is the Double-Meat Kobe Beef Bowl at 2,080 yen. With ingredient grades — Kobe beef, domestic Japanese Black Wagyu beef, domestic pork raised in snow country — that far exceed those of regular Matsuya stores, the price range sits well above the norm; notably, three products share the 1,681-yen price point, giving the mid-price tier some depth as well.
Kobe Beef Bowl
An original Beef Bowl made with Kobe beef exclusive to Matsuya Ginza, prepared using a unique cooking method to bring out the best of the Kobe beef. The sauce blends Matsuya’s original Beef Bowl sauce, and even the onions and the Red Pickled Ginger garnish use domestic ingredients — a thoroughgoing commitment. The item is served in a “waPPa” container made of falcata wood with a paper wrapper band, in eco-conscious packaging. The double-meat version at 2,080 yen is the highest-priced item in the store.
Umatoma Hamburg Steak with Domestic Japanese Black Wagyu Beef
A hamburg steak made with domestic Japanese Black Wagyu beef, topped with a soft-boiled Maximum Koitamago egg known for its richly colored yolk. The hamburg steak uses a unique blend formulated to stay tender even after cooling. The Umatoma sauce has been adjusted to an original taste that brings out the umami of the tomatoes.
Rich Snow Country-Raised Pork Steak
A hearty dish using 150g of domestic pork raised in snow country, known for its sweet fat and tender texture. It uses Matsuya’s original pork steak sauce, with fried garlic as a topping providing an accent.
Three Types of Founding Beef Rich Curry and Rice
Based on the “Founding Beef Curry and Rice,” long loved by fans at regular Matsuya stores, the “Founding Beef Rich Curry and Rice” adds a generous portion of boiled beef for extra depth. Besides the single item at 1,050 yen, there are variations with a Kobe beef topping at 1,681 yen and a Black Wagyu Beef Hamburg Steak topping at 1,681 yen. This positions the traditional Matsuya style of “Karegyu” and hamburg steak curry as elevated to PREMIUM status through pairing with Kobe beef and Black Wagyu beef.
In addition to the above 7 items, the company says it is also considering developing new seasonal menu items and selling prepared foods.
A 7-Year Project Uniting “Matsuya Ginza’s 100th Anniversary” and “Matsuya Foods’ 60th Anniversary”
Matsuya Ginza is a department store that marked its 100th anniversary in 2025, while Matsuya Foods marks its 60th founding anniversary in 2026. The two companies share the “Matsuya” name, and this connection is what set the project in motion.
| Step | Timing | Details |

The project, 7 years in the making since its conception, was finally made permanent after confirming a “record-breaking response” at the 2025 pop-up event, despite the interruption caused by the pandemic.
Logo, Store Design, and Service: “Department Store Standard”
The store design centers on three-dimensional black tones and wood-grain brown, accented with a gold logo, creating a high-quality composition befitting a department store brand. Product samples are displayed in showcases, aiming to create a space that offers “the joy of choosing” and “a sense of specialness” distinct from conventional Matsuya stores.
The logo retains Matsuya’s iconic motif while adopting gold to match the “PREMIUM” concept. It expresses the high quality and sense of specialness befitting a department store brand, while preserving a traditional sense of approachability.
Staff members who have completed dedicated service training for “Matsuya PREMIUM” are stationed at the store, providing department-store-standard service in brown vest-and-set uniforms. Packaging uses a “waPPa” container made of falcata wood with a paper wrapper band, an eco-conscious specification.
Usage Restrictions: Shareholder Benefit Vouchers, Matsuben Net, etc. Not Accepted
Unlike regular Matsuya stores, the following usage restrictions apply:
- Shareholder benefit vouchers and meal vouchers cannot be used
- Matsuben Net, Mobile Order, and Matsuben Delivery cannot be used
These restrictions reflect the store’s sales format as a permanent in-department-store location, limiting purchases to in-person, in-store transactions.
Editor's Note
A collaboration marking both Matsuya Ginza's 100th anniversary and Matsuya Foods' 60th founding anniversary. The basement 1st floor bento and prepared foods section now carries a 2,080-yen Double-Meat Kobe Beef Bowl.
