Matsuya's Official X Asks Followers About Their 'Usual Breakfast' With a Photo of Its Morning Set Meal
On the morning of September 6, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted a photo of its Morning Meal along with the message, “Start your Sunday morning with Matsuya’s Morning Meal!! (╹◡╹)” and “Please tell us your usual breakfast.” Rather than announcing a specific new product or campaign, the post is an interactive one inviting followers to respond.
The Morning Meal Photo Accompanying the Post
The photo shows a wood-grain tray holding rice, miso soup with fried tofu pouch and wakame, an onsen egg, and grated yam paste. It’s a morning-appropriate spread meant to be eaten by pouring the grated yam paste and onsen egg over the rice.
Matsuya sells several types of Morning Meal, all of which remain on offer. This post doesn’t name a specific item, instead introducing a morning meal simply through the phrase “start with the Morning Meal” and the accompanying photo.
Two Straight Days of Reader-Engagement Posts
The previous day, September 5, the official account had also posted, “In my opinion, the People’s Honor Award-worthy combination at Matsuya is Beef Bowl with Raw Egg” and “Please tell us your favorite items and combinations!” asking followers about their preferred combinations. Combined with today’s breakfast question, this marks two consecutive days of posts asking followers to respond.
“Please Tell Us” Is a Recurring Call to Action
Looking back at past posts, calls of the form “please tell us about X” asking followers to respond have appeared multiple times since late May alone. On June 8, the account asked about “your favorite regular menu items”; in July, it collected Tanabata wishes and ideas for menu items and projects; and in August, it ran a haiku project soliciting “Matsuya Relatable Moments” in 5-7-5 form, along with an “Autumn Song Request Drive.” These calls span everything from food preferences to seasonal projects. This latest post asking about “usual breakfast” is part of that same ongoing series.
However, while the September 5 and June 8 posts asking about food preferences were both structured to first state the account manager’s own preference before turning the question to followers, this time there’s no such preamble — the post moves straight from a morning photo and greeting into a short question for followers. The emoticon “(╹◡╹)” is a recurring staple on the official account, and together with the closing “!!”, the post is written in the account’s usual style.
