Matsuya Matsusaka Okuroda Ends Late-Night and Early-Morning Hours, Shortens to 8 AM - 10 PM

It has come to light that at 10 Matsuya stores in Aichi Prefecture, the temporary late-night closure schedules at 24-hour locations have all been updated at once to reflect late-September dates. The stores affected are Matsuya Mikawa-Anjo Store (0340), Matsuya Toyota Yamanote Store (0390), Matsuya Okazaki-Kita Store (0425), Matsuya Kariya Hidaka Store (0519), Matsuya Toyohashi Fujisawa-cho Store (0539), Matsuya Nishio Store (2140), Matsuya Chita Store (2151), Matsuya Obu Store (2188), Matsuya Miyoshi Store (2212), and Matsuya Toyokawa Store (2222) — 10 stores in all. At all of them, the underlying “24-hour operation” status remains unchanged; only on specific dates is part of the late-night-to-early-morning window closed, with the listing switching to show last orders 30 minutes before the closure begins. Here, “Temporarily Closed” doesn’t mean the store itself shuts down — it refers to operations halting only during that specific time window.

Just recently, on September 13, a similar mass update covering 66 stores across the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku regions revised schedules for late September — meaning this is a re-update coming just 5 days later.

How Each Store’s Closure Schedule Changed

The closure schedules before and after the change for all 10 stores are as follows. In every case, last orders are set 30 minutes before the closure begins.

8 Stores Expand Closure Schedules, Chita Store Alone Scales Back

This round of changes doesn’t move in a single direction. Eight stores — Toyota Yamanote, Okazaki-Kita, Kariya Hidaka, Toyohashi Fujisawa-cho, Nishio, Obu, Miyoshi, and Toyokawa — added new late-September dates on top of their existing closure schedules. Nishio Store in particular added Sep 27 and also newly added a Sep 29 00:00–02:00 slot, while Obu Store newly established two early-morning slots on Sep 21 and 30. The newly added dates cluster toward the end of the month — Sep 25, 29, and 30 — narrowing in on the late-night hours of the very last days of September.

At Mikawa-Anjo Store, the number of closure days itself remains unchanged at 6, but the time windows for two of those days — Sep 24 and Sep 27 — were swapped out. Both had previously been uniformly set to 22:00–09:00 (next day), but they’ve now been individually restructured, with Sep 24 becoming 02:00–05:00 and Sep 27 becoming 00:00–09:00.

Meanwhile, among the 10 stores, Chita Store alone moved in the opposite direction, sharply cutting back its closure days. Before the change, 7 closure slots were listed spanning Sep 20 through Sep 30, but 5 of them — Sep 21, 26, 27, 29, and 30 — have been withdrawn, leaving only 2 slots: Sep 20 and Sep 22.

Okazaki-Kita Store: A Continuous Build-up From the September 13 Update

The pre-change closure schedule at Okazaki-Kita Store matches exactly what that same store had after the September 13 update covering 66 stores across Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku. On top of that, Sep 25 05:00–08:00 has now been newly added, and the sequence of values shows that the store’s closure schedule is being built up seamlessly on top of the previous update. This late-night closure schedule has the character of being repeatedly rewritten forward to later dates for the same store, and Okazaki-Kita Store is a clear example where that continuity can be confirmed.

Lineup Partially Different From the Previous Sep 6 Update at 10 Aichi Stores

A similar mass update had also taken place at 10 Aichi stores on September 6, but this time the lineup has changed by 2 stores. Anjo Nishikimachi Store and Toyota Totsuka Store, which were included last time, are dropped this time, while Toyohashi Fujisawa-cho Store and Miyoshi Store have been added instead. The other 8 — Mikawa-Anjo, Toyota Yamanote, Okazaki-Kita, Kariya Hidaka, Nishio, Chita, Obu, and Toyokawa — are updated for a second consecutive time.

This time’s 10 stores are spread out one apiece across 10 different cities — Anjo, Toyota, Okazaki, Kariya, Toyohashi, Nishio, Chita, Obu, Miyoshi, and Toyokawa. The configuration spreads broadly from the Mikawa region to the Chita Peninsula, and the 10 stores caught up in this simultaneous update represent roughly a fifth of the approximately 54 Matsuya stores operating in Aichi Prefecture. Of these, 7 stores — Mikawa-Anjo, Toyota Yamanote, Nishio, Chita, Obu, Miyoshi, and Toyokawa — are co-located with the tonkatsu format “Matsunoya.”

Part of an Ongoing Rolling Update Across the Chubu Region Since Early Spring

Listings showing a partial late-night closure window have been appearing intermittently since early spring at 24-hour Matsuya stores in the Chubu region, centered on Aichi Prefecture. On the official Matsuya website, roughly 58 stores nationwide carry a late-night temporary closure notation in their operating-hours field. By prefecture, Aichi has the most with 22 stores, followed by Osaka Prefecture with 20. No stores in the Kanto region carry this notation — as things stand, it’s concentrated in parts of the Chubu and Kinki regions.

The 10 stores covered this time are also, each of them, stores that have repeatedly gone through similar operating-hours updates in the past, being rewritten every few weeks as the target dates are pushed forward. Kariya Hidaka Store in particular has had shorter intervals between updates, cycling between periods when the listing reverts to plain “24-hour operation” with no closure days, and periods when new closure schedules are attached again each time. This re-update just 5 days after the broad September 13 update shows that the late-night closure schedule for the Chubu region continues to be adjusted on a short cycle.

If you're planning a late-night dash to Matsuya, it's worth checking your usual store's closure schedule the day before.
