Matsuya Updates Late-Night Closure Schedules at 10 Stores in Aichi Prefecture All at Once
It has come to light that at 10 Matsuya stores in Aichi Prefecture, the temporary late-night closure schedules for stores operating 24 hours have been updated all at once with content for September. The stores affected are Matsuya Mikawa-Anjo Store (0340), Matsuya Toyota Yamanote Store (0390), Matsuya Anjo Nishikimachi Store (0416), Matsuya Okazaki-Kita Store (0425), Matsuya Toyota Totsuka Store (0429), Matsuya Kariya Hidaka Store (0519), Matsuya Nishio Store (2140), Matsuya Chita Store (2151), Matsuya Obu Store (2188), and Matsuya Toyokawa Store (2222) — 10 stores in total. At all of them, the basic “24-hour operation” status remains unchanged; only on specific dates is part of the late-night-to-early-morning period suspended, with the last order display switching to 30 minutes before the suspension begins. Here, “temporary closure” does not mean the store itself closes down, but refers to the operation of halting business only during that time slot.
How Each Store’s Closure Schedule Changed
The closure schedules before and after the change for the 10 stores are as follows. In every case, the last order time is 30 minutes before the closure begins.

| Mikawa-Anjo Store (0340) | 9/7, 9/14: 10 PM–9 AM the next day; 9/10: 10 PM–6 AM the next day | 9/14: 10 PM–9 AM the next day |

| Toyota Totsuka Store (0429) | No closure days set | 9/6: 10 PM–9 AM the next day; 9/12: 1 AM–3 AM; 9/14: 12 AM–9 AM |

| Chita Store (2151) | No closure days set | 9/7: 6 AM–9 AM |
| Obu Store (2188) | 9/1, 9/7, 9/14: 10 PM–9 AM the next day | 9/8: 12 AM–8 AM |
| Toyokawa Store (2222) | No closure days set | 9/14: 5 AM–8 AM; 9/16: 5 AM–9 AM |
The direction of the changes is not uniform. Five stores — Anjo Nishikimachi Store, Toyota Totsuka Store, Kariya Hidaka Store, Chita Store, and Toyokawa Store — previously operated 24 hours a day with no closure days at all, and have now newly gained closure days. Two stores, Toyota Yamanote Store and Okazaki-Kita Store, saw their closure days increase, while two others, Mikawa-Anjo Store and Obu Store, saw their closure days decrease, narrowing the affected dates. At Nishio Store, 9/5 was dropped and 9/8 was added, swapping out the schedule.
Mikawa-Anjo Store and Kariya Hidaka Store Updated Directly From Their Previous Listings
On its official website, Matsuya Mikawa-Anjo Store had previously listed closures on three dates — “9/7 and 9/14 from 10 PM to 9 AM the next day, and 9/10 from 10 PM to 6 AM the next day.” This time, 9/7 and 9/10 were removed, narrowing the listing down to just 9/14 from 10 PM to 9 AM the next day. The number of closure days has been reduced by two.
Matsuya Kariya Hidaka Store, on the other hand, had been listed simply as “24-hour operation” with no closure days, and has now newly gained two closure dates: 9/10 (10 PM–9 AM the next day) and 9/15 (4 AM–9 AM). This store is one of those that has continued to see rolling updates to its late-night closure schedule, and its most recent stretch with no closure days at all was only a brief period starting from late August. It has now switched back to a listing with closure days again.
Spread Across 8 Cities in Aichi, 8 of the 10 Stores Co-Located With Matsunoya
All 10 stores affected this time are located within Aichi Prefecture. By city, Anjo City (Mikawa-Anjo Store, Anjo Nishikimachi Store) and Toyota City (Toyota Yamanote Store, Toyota Totsuka Store) each have 2 stores, while Okazaki City, Kariya City, Nishio City, Toyokawa City, Chita City, and Obu City each have 1, spreading across 8 cities from the Mikawa region to the Chita Peninsula. Of the roughly 54 Matsuya stores operating within Aichi Prefecture, about 20% — these 10 stores — were affected at the same time.
Furthermore, 8 of the 10 stores — including Mikawa-Anjo Store, Toyota Yamanote Store, Toyota Totsuka Store, Nishio Store, Chita Store, Obu Store, and Toyokawa Store — are stores that are co-located with the tonkatsu chain Matsunoya.
Part of the Rolling Updates in the Chubu Area That Have Continued Since April
This round of simultaneous updates is not a sudden occurrence. The number of Matsuya stores in Aichi Prefecture whose business hours listing includes a note about temporary late-night closures has held roughly steady at 22 to 32 stores per month from April through August, with the affected dates continuing to be updated intermittently, moving forward month after month. The 10 stores affected this time are also each stores that have repeatedly undergone this same kind of business-hours update in the past.
Kariya Hidaka Store, in particular, has seen its closure schedule updated almost continuously since April, with its listing reverting to plain “24-hour operation” with no closure days limited to two brief stretches of about two weeks each — in early June and from late August. At this store, the late-night closure schedule keeps being updated at short intervals.
Regarding Matsuya’s late-night closure schedules, a simultaneous update covering roughly 60 stores across the Tokai and Kinki areas was also made to early-September content on August 31. This update at the 10 Aichi stores represents a further round of additions, reductions, and shifts to the early-to-mid-September schedule among those stores.
Editor's Note
Regulars in the Mikawa and Chita area who drop by late at night can rest easy just by checking the dates before heading out. This area has seen some finer-grained changes lately.
