Matsuya Matsusaka Daikokuda Store Extends Late-Night Closure to October 15
This article has a newer version
It has been found that the operating hours listed on the official website for Matsuya Matsusaka Daikokuda Store (1978) have been updated, revising the period of temporary late-night operation suspension to a continuous 11-day span from October 5 to October 15. Before the update, the suspension days were set on non-consecutive dates — October 5 through 7, plus October 12 — but this has now been consolidated into one continuous period, with the end date extended from the 12th to the 15th. The suspended hours run from 10 PM to 8 AM the following day. The store itself does not close; only operations during the late-night to early-morning hours are suspended, which is different from a long-term closure of the store itself.
Non-consecutive suspension days become a continuous period through October 15
Matsusaka Daikokuda Store’s normal business hours are 2 AM to midnight (last order 30 minutes before closing). Within that, the operating hours section states that operations from 10 PM to 8 AM the next day will be suspended from October 5 through 15. Before the update, the suspension covered only four days — October 5, 6, 7, and 12 — with October 8 through 11 and the 13th and 14th operating as usual. With this update, the period from the 5th through the 15th has become an unbroken suspension span, increasing the number of affected days from effectively four to eleven.
Late-night suspensions have expanded gradually since September
According to the operating hours section of the official website, the late-night suspension has expanded in stages since September. In September, it was limited to a two-hour window from 2 AM to 4 AM, from the 1st through the 15th. It then shifted to September 14 through 29, and once October arrived, the suspended window expanded to a ten-hour span from 10 PM to 8 AM the next day. The suspension days were initially set for October 5 through 7 and the 12th, and have now been extended to the 15th. What began as a very short late-night suspension has grown in both the length of the window and the number of days covered.
Half a month after a second location opened in Matsusaka, the situation across Mie Prefecture
In Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture, where Matsusaka Daikokuda Store is located, Matsuya Matsusaka Kamatacho Store (2299) just opened on October 1. It is the second location in the city, following Matsusaka Daikokuda Store, and the two stores are about 2.2 km apart in a straight line. Matsusaka Kamatacho Store operates 24 hours a day, and its listing includes no mention of a late-night suspension.
Elsewhere in Mie Prefecture, Matsuya Kuwana Store (0480) lists a suspension from 10 PM to 8 AM on October 6 and 15, while Matsuya Suzuka Chuo-dori Store (1836) lists a suspension from 3 AM to 5 AM on October 2, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 14. These late-night suspension listings are not limited to the area around Matsusaka City — since the start of October, the settings have been updated at multiple stores across the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku regions, and nationwide, 66 stores currently carry this type of listing in their operating hours section.
Editor's Note
This store originally stood out for the unusual hour it opens — 2 AM. Until October 15, that late-night slot will be taking a brief break.
