On the evening of July 7, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) published a post themed around Tanabata. It opened with “Today is Tanabata,” touched on how Orihime and Hikoboshi can only meet once a year, and added, “Once a year is lonely” and “We want Matsuya to be a closer presence in your life!!” The post also asked readers, “What did you wish for this year?”, inviting them to share in the comments.

A Beef Bowl Floating in the Milky Way, with Macky Pressing Its Paws Together

The image accompanying the post depicts a night sky filled with stars and the Milky Way. In the upper right, a bowl of Beef Bowl is drawn as a constellation, with stars connected by white lines forming the shapes of the bowl, the meat piled on top, and a pair of chopsticks. In front of the bowl on the right, Red Pickled Ginger is drawn in red, adding the only spot of color within the otherwise monotone constellation. On the left, vertical serif text reads “May Matsuya be part of everyone’s table,” and in the lower right corner, Matsuya’s official mascot Macky is depicted with paws pressed together, gazing up at the sky with misty eyes in prayer. The composition casts Beef Bowl as a Tanabata constellation, layered over the theme of making a wish.

Tanabata-Timed Campaigns Running in Parallel

Separately from this greeting post, Matsuya is also running several campaigns starting on Tanabata itself. From July 7 to 13, an app-exclusive “Tanabata Point Boost” awards 50 points on eligible bowls, and from the same July 7 through 13, the “Yorutoku Campaign” on Matsuben Net doubles points for orders picked up between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. The result pairs a seasonal greeting post with campaigns offering tangible benefits.

Beef Bowl rising into the Milky Way on Tanabata—somehow romantic. I wonder what everyone wished for this year.
