Matsuya Updates Nutrition Facts for 'Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl' and 2 Other Items for the First Time Since Launch

MenuUpdated

On September 8, 2026, Matsuya updated the nutritional information listed on its official website for three items: the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl, the Yakiniku Pork Loin Set Meal, and the Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal. Calories, fat, and salt equivalent were uniformly raised across all sizes, while prices remained unchanged for all three. This is the first time the nutritional listings have been revised since the three items joined the regular menu lineup on June 30 and July 7, 2026.

Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl: Calories Up More Than 20 kcal Across All Sizes

The Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl (Regular Serving, 630 yen) saw its listed energy value raised across all three sizes — Small, Regular, and Large Serving.

Size Price Energy (Before → After)
Small Serving 600 yen 536 kcal → 560 kcal (+24)
Regular Serving 630 yen 661 kcal → 685 kcal (+24)
Large Serving 850 yen 918 kcal → 951 kcal (+33)

For the Regular Serving, fat also rose from 23.9g to 25.8g and salt equivalent from 5.2g to 5.8g, alongside the energy increase. The Regular Serving’s previous value of 661 kcal matched the figure listed at launch on June 30, 2026, meaning this is the first update to that figure in the roughly 70 days since release.

Yakiniku Pork Loin Set Meal: Double Up 65 kcal, Salt Equivalent More Than Doubles for the Only Option

The Yakiniku Pork Loin Set Meal (790 yen) also saw energy values rise across all three configurations: the Only option (meat alone, no sides), the Set Meal (with rice and salad), and the Double (twice the meat).

Variation Price Energy (Before → After)
Only 590 yen 300 kcal → 332 kcal (+32)
Set Meal 790 yen 704 kcal → 736 kcal (+32)
Double 1,280 yen 1,004 kcal → 1,069 kcal (+65)

The Only option in particular saw its salt equivalent more than double, from 0.6g to 1.3g. The Set Meal’s previous 704 kcal also matched the value listed at launch, making this its first update since release as well.

Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal: Every Size and Every Figure Rises

For the Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal (850 yen), not just energy but protein, fat, carbohydrates, and salt equivalent were all uniformly raised from the values listed at launch, across every size.

Variation Price Energy Protein Fat Carbohydrates Salt Equivalent
Only 650 yen 516→548 kcal 22.4→22.6g 39.2→41.6g 19.3→21.5g 4.0→4.8g
Set Meal 850 yen 920→952 kcal 30.5→30.8g 41.3→43.8g 104.2→106.4g 5.6→6.4g
Double 1,340 yen 1,296→1,361 kcal 52.8→53.3g 65.7→70.6g 122.3→126.7g 9.3→10.8g

For the Double, fat rose 4.9g from 65.7g to 70.6g, and salt equivalent rose 1.5g from 9.3g to 10.8g. The Double, with twice the meat, saw the largest increases.

Values Revised, Price Held Steady

For all three items, the listed nutritional values rose while the price did not move by a single yen. Although the figures increased uniformly across every size and every category while the price stayed the same, no announcement has been issued explaining the reason.

In terms of pricing, the Yakiniku Pork Loin Set Meal’s 790 yen is the cheapest among the 14 set meals currently on the menu — 10 yen less than the second-cheapest, the “Seared” Grilled Salmon Set Meal (800 yen), and 100 yen less than the Pork & Kimchi Set Meal, the Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib Set Meal, and the Yakiniku Beef Set Meal (all 890 yen). The Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal’s 850 yen sits a step below those, and the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl’s Regular Serving price of 630 yen is among the cheapest in the bowl menu lineup. This price ordering has not changed with the current revision. As of now, no coupons or discounts have been set specifically for these three items.

The Evolution of the “Pork Loin” Slot, and a Wave of Nutritional Updates in September

The “Pork Loin” set meal slot now occupied by the Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal has changed both its name and price over the past few months. It debuted in April 2026 as the Set Meal of Grilled Pork Loin (880 yen), switched to the Set Meal of Grilled Thick Pork Loin (980 yen) in May, and then to the Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal (850 yen) on July 7. The Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl and the Yakiniku Pork Loin Set Meal were added on June 30, initially as Limited-time items, before both moved to the regular menu lineup on July 7, the same day the Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal appeared. All three appear to have inherited the same menu slot.

This revision of nutritional information is not a one-off limited to these three items. On the same day, September 8, the Pork & Kimchi Set Meal also had its calories, fat, and salt equivalent raised in the same direction. Since the start of September, updates to the nutritional listings of existing menu items have been occurring one after another.

Editor's Note

An update where the numbers quietly climb while the price stays exactly the same. Anyone who checks the size of the increase across every single figure might just be a true Matsuya connoisseur.
