Matsuya Brings Back Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Set Meal After About 7 Months, Launches 8 Items Today

Matsuya released 5 new Set Meal and Bowl items today, June 30. The lineup includes 3 Hamburg Steak dishes, among them the Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Set Meal, back after about 7 months, and 2 Pork Loin dishes, including the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl, back after about a month and a half. The same day, 3 low-carb Fresh Vegetable Salad Set versions of the Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce were also added, bringing the total new menu to 8 items. In their place, the 2 Demi-glace Egg Hamburg Steak items and Extra Cheese were delisted, and 2 Thick Set Meal items are also set to be discontinued successively.

The Hamburg Steak Lineup Shifts from Demi-glace Egg to Brown Sauce

The Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Set Meal returns after about 7 months, priced in 4 tiers: 630 yen Only, 830 yen Single, 1,180 yen Set Meal, and 1,580 yen Triple. Alongside it are the Egg Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Set Meal with egg added (1,280 yen Set Meal) and the Cheese Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Set Meal with cheese added (1,380 yen Set Meal), completing a lineup of 3 Brown Sauce varieties.

The same day, low-carb Fresh Vegetable Salad Set versions of all 3, with rice swapped for fresh vegetable salad, were also added. The Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Fresh Vegetable Salad Set is 1,140 yen (44.0g carbs, 819kcal), the Egg Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Fresh Vegetable Salad Set is 1,240 yen, and the Cheese Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Fresh Vegetable Salad Set is 1,340 yen — all with carbs held well below the Set Meal versions (in the 120g range).

In their place, the Demi-glace Egg Hamburg Steak Set Meal (1,240 yen) and Cheese Demi-glace Egg Hamburg Steak Set Meal (1,440 yen), which had been on sale for about 4 weeks since debuting on June 2, were delisted on June 30. The side menu item Extra Cheese (120 yen) also disappeared at the same time.

The Pork Loin Lineup: Thick Series Announced for Discontinuation, Salt-based Green Onion Bowl and Yakiniku Set Meal Debut

The Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl returns after about a month and a half, launched as a regular menu item. Besides the 630 yen Regular Serving, Small Serving (600 yen) and Large Serving (850 yen) are also available. The Yakiniku Pork Loin Set Meal (790 yen Set Meal, 590 yen Only, 1,280 yen Double) was added at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Thick Pork Steak Set Meal (1,180 yen) and Thick Grilled Pork Loin Set Meal (980 yen), both released on May 19, now carry a “*To Be Discontinued Successively” notice, heading toward discontinuation about 6 weeks after launch. The 2 Chimichurri Sauce Thick Pork Grill items from the same Thick series were already delisted on June 23, part of an ongoing trend of winding down the Thick lineup.
