松屋 川島店 Matsuya Kawajima Store: Line About Matsunoya's "21:45 Pickup Deadline" Removed From Notes Section

It has come to light that the line “※Matsunoya menu items are available for pickup until 21:45” has disappeared from the notes section of the Matsuya Kawajima Store (0980) page on Matsuya’s official website. The store, a Matsunoya co-located location in Oaza Kamiigusa, Kawajima Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture, still has its other two notes in the notes section and its business hours listing unchanged.

The Removed Line in the Notes Section

Before the change, the store’s notes section in Kawajima Town listed three notes side by side.

Before:

※Matsunoya menu items are available for pickup until 21:45.※Between 22:00 and 5:00 the following morning, a late-night surcharge of approximately 7% will be added.※Business hours are subject to change, and temporary closures may occur.

After:

※Between 22:00 and 5:00 the following morning, a late-night surcharge of approximately 7% will be added.※Business hours are subject to change, and temporary closures may occur.

Only the first line, “※Matsunoya menu items are available for pickup until 21:45,” has been dropped, while the two notes about the late-night surcharge and about changes to business hours or temporary closures remain.

The “21:45” That Overlaps With the Business Hours Listing

The 21:45 pickup deadline stated in the removed line matches the time derived from the store’s business hours listing, which still reads, “Matsunoya: 8:00 to 22:00, last order 15 minutes before close.” Subtracting 15 minutes from Matsunoya’s 22:00 closing time gives 21:45 — the two notes pointed to the same time.

The business hours listing’s “Matsunoya: 8:00 to 22:00, last order 15 minutes before close” remains unchanged, so Matsunoya’s menu offering itself hasn’t ended. What was dropped is only the line in the notes section that duplicated the same time already given in the business hours listing. That said, it’s not possible to tell from Matsuya’s official website whether this line was providing separate guidance on order pickup times apart from in-store service, or whether this was simply a cleanup of the wording.

The Third Information Update This Year

The Kawajima Town store is also one where business-related listings have been repeatedly rewritten since the start of this year.

On April 16, the business hours changed from the previous two-part weekday/weekend-and-holiday format to a more detailed day-by-day format. Then, on June 30, that day-by-day format switched to a blanket “24-hour operation” listing, extending Matsuya itself to round-the-clock hours. At that time too, the co-located Matsunoya’s hours were left unchanged at “8:00 to 22:00, last order 15 minutes before close.” And now, the line about Matsunoya in the notes section has been dropped. This follows the pattern of the business hours listing settling into “24-hour operation ※Matsunoya: 8:00 to 22:00, last order 15 minutes before close,” after which the Matsunoya-related wording in the notes section was also tidied up.

The trend of co-located Matsunoya’s hours guidance dropping out of the business hours listing has also been occurring at multiple Matsuya stores since July. Within Saitama Prefecture, on August 18, the Koshigaya Gamo Store and Asaka Hizaori Store had their Matsunoya hours notes removed from the business hours listing and consolidated into “24-hour operation.” This time’s change at the Kawajima Town store is a cleanup in a different section — the notes section rather than the business hours listing — but it shares the common thread of co-located brand guidance dropping out of the listing. As of now, no other Matsunoya co-located store appears to carry the same line, “Matsunoya menu items are available for pickup until 21:45,” in its notes section.

The Only Matsuya in Kawajima Town

Matsuya Kawajima Store is the only Matsuya located within Kawajima Town. Even including the neighboring cities of Kawagoe, Sakado, Higashimatsuyama, and Okegawa, there are only about a dozen or so Matsuya stores, of which around eight, including this one, have a co-located Matsunoya. Of the 102 Matsuya stores currently operating in Saitama Prefecture, 43 have a co-located Matsunoya — accounting for nearly half.

Many Matsunoya co-located stores are shifting to round-the-clock operation, and this store’s expansion to 24-hour operation at the end of June was in line with that trend. As the only Matsuya/Matsunoya co-located store in the town, it continues to see these small wording adjustments.
