Three Sister Items Updated on Release Day; This One Two Days Later

This Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice is one of four items in the “Spinach and Cottage Cheese” series that went on sale together at 10:00 on September 22. The other three are the “Spinach and Cottage Cheese Curry and Rice” (780 yen), the “Chicken Curry and Rice” (960 yen), and the “Karegyu” (1,050 yen), all built on a base inspired by the Indian curry known as “Palak Paneer.”

It has already been reported that the nutrition values for these three sister items were changed on the release day, September 22. At that time, the Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice’s nutrition values were unchanged from those shown at release, so it was updated on its own only on September 24. Of the four items that debuted on the same day, this is the only one whose nutrition update slipped by two days, and no official reason has been given.

There is also a difference in menu classification. While the three sister items are listed on Matsuya’s official website as limited-time menu items, this Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice was listed as a non-limited-time menu item as of September 24, making it the only one in the series with a different status.

Furthermore, the September 17 official announcement and related official X posts list four items in the lineup: Only at 660 yen, Regular at 780 yen, Chicken Curry and Rice at 960 yen, and Karegyu at 1,050 yen. The Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice at 1,170 yen, the top item in the series, does not appear there by name or price.

Highest-Priced Item in the Curry Category, and Near the Top Across the Whole Menu

At 1,170 yen, it is the most expensive of the nine items currently in Matsuya’s curry category. The runner-up is the store-limited “Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice” (1,070 yen), so it stands alone at the top by 100 yen.
