Matsuya Naha Shintoshin Store and 3 Other Okinawa Stores: All Typhoon Temporary Closure Notices Lifted

At 10:51 AM on June 2, 2026, the “*Temporarily Closed Due to Typhoon” notice attached to the end of the store names for Matsuya Uruma Akamichi Store (1991) and Matsuya Tomigusuku Store (2105) on the Matsuya official website’s store information was removed simultaneously. This followed the removal of the notice from Matsuya Naha Shintoshin Store (2194) and Matsuya Naha Oroku Store (2530) at 9:51 AM the same day, and about 17 hours after the notice was added at 5:52 PM on June 1, all four target stores in Okinawa Prefecture had their notation reverted to the original state, ending only with the co-located brand notation.

For hours, Naha Shintoshin Store operates from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM, while the other three stores (Naha Oroku, Uruma Akamichi, and Tomigusuku) operate 24 hours, and all continue to list their co-located brand. My Curry Shokudo is co-located only at Naha Shintoshin Store, while the remaining three stores are all co-located with Matsunoya.

The Two Naha Stores First, Followed About an Hour Later by Uruma and Tomigusuku

The “*Temporarily Closed Due to Typhoon” notice, added on the evening of June 1, was removed in two rounds on the morning of June 2 — at 9:51 AM and at 10:51 AM.

The two stores within Naha had their notices removed first, followed about an hour later by the two stores in Uruma and Tomigusuku. The two geographically close stores within Naha were handled in the first round, while the two stores in Uruma in central Okinawa Island and Tomigusuku in the southwest of the island were handled in the second round.

About 17 Hours From Notice Added to Fully Removed

The “*Temporarily Closed Due to Typhoon” notice, added simultaneously to all four stores at 5:52 PM on June 1, was removed from every store with the second round of removals at 10:51 AM today, returning all four Okinawa stores to the store name notation they had before the notice was added. The time from the notice being added to full removal was about 17 hours.

Matsuya’s earlier temporary closure notices have mostly been scheduled ones for renovation purposes (e.g., “*Temporarily closed from [date] [time]” or “Reopening scheduled for [date]”), with the switch to a reopening notice timed to the scheduled opening date and time. This time, however, the typhoon-related notice carried no accompanying reopening date, and the operation has been to remove it as the situation develops. This time, within a relatively short span of about 17 hours, the four stores were handled in two rounds — the two stores within Naha, followed by the two stores in central and southwest Okinawa Island.

With the notice removed from all four stores, the end of each store name once again aligned into the co-located brand’s closing parenthesis (My Curry Shokudo co-located, Matsunoya co-located), and this sequence of events again confirmed that notices are added and removed by group of target stores rather than store by store.
