The store had already been listed in Matsuya’s official website store data since the morning of May 15, with a note reading “*Opens June 2 at 10 AM,” and it opened today at 10 AM as scheduled.

Observations on the Store Exterior

The attached photo, taken from the front on a rainy morning, shows a storefront finished in dark gray metal siding. It carries a dual-brand sign: on the left, the Matsuya logo in a red circle with black “Matsuya” lettering, and on the right, a red circle with white “Tonkatsu” lettering above black “Matsunoya” lettering. Unlike the wave of existing-store renovations adding Matsunoya co-location that has been proceeding in parallel since May (Asaka Hizaori, Aoto, Nangodori, Minowacho, Sawara, Kadoma, Tatsuno, and others), Gozendori Oike Store follows the pattern of a brand-new store launched as a Matsunoya co-located store from the outset. It marks the first new-store opening of June, following the May 29 opening of Isahaya Store in Nagasaki Prefecture.
