This round of price revisions covers four items: the flagship Founding Beef Curry and Rice, plus its Cheese, Hamburg Steak, and Karegyu variations. Every item was cut by exactly 100 yen from its previous price, making this a uniform, across-the-board revision.

After the cut, prices now sit almost exactly in line with Matsuya’s flagship Beef Bowl price range. The 560-yen Only option matches the 560 yen for a Regular Serving of Kimchi Beef Bowl or Oni-oroshi Grated Radish Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce Beef Bowl (Regular Serving), the 680-yen option with rice matches the 680 yen Large Serving Beef Bowl, and the 880-yen Cheese Founding Beef Curry and Rice matches the 880 yen Large Serving Cheese Beef Bowl. The 950-yen Karegyu also lands close to the 960 yen Extra-large Serving Kimchi Beef Bowl.

Even within the curry lineup itself, the newly discounted 560-yen Founding Beef Curry and Rice (Only) now sits at the most accessible price point among curry items. Compared with the store-limited Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice (980 yen), the price has moved closer to a range suited for everyday ordering.

Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice Down a Cumulative 260 Yen

Among the four items cut this time, the Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice has seen the largest price movement. The item was already cut once to 990 yen on June 2, and with this latest cut to 890 yen, it has now fallen a cumulative 260 yen — about 22.6% — from its end-of-March price of 1,150 yen, across two rounds of cuts. The two cuts came within roughly two months of each other, and the Hamburg Steak item’s decline stands out among the four.

Meanwhile, the lunch set for the Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice, which comes with rice and salad, remains unchanged at 1,040 yen as of July 28 and was not adjusted alongside this round of cuts to the standalone item. The lunch set’s price has not changed since it reappeared at 1,040 yen on June 2.

Curry Variations Continue to Rotate

The Founding Beef Curry and Rice has long been a staple with a rotating cast of variations. In late March, a “Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice” lineup paired with beef tongue appeared, but had disappeared by early April, and the “Umatoma Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice,” layered with Umatoma flavor, was announced for discontinuation in late May and ended sales in June. Amid this shifting cast of variations, this round saw the four core base items cut together.
