Matsuya lowered the prices of four items in its Founding Beef Curry and Rice lineup by 100 yen each on July 28, 2026. The dishes themselves are unchanged; only the prices listed on the official website were cut, making this a price revision for the whole series at once. After the cut, prices start at 560 yen for the Curry Only, among the lowest in the curry menu.

All Four Items Down by 100 Yen

The revision covers the flagship “Founding Beef Curry and Rice” along with its Cheese, Hamburg Steak and Karegyu variations. Each price was cut by exactly 100 yen, so the whole series moved in lockstep.

The top-tier Karegyu fell from 1,050 yen to 950 yen, dipping below the 1,000 yen mark. The Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice, topped with a Hamburg Steak, went from 990 yen to 890 yen, and the Cheese Founding Beef Curry and Rice, topped with melted cheese, dropped from 980 yen to 880 yen.

New Prices Line Up With the Core Beef Bowl Range

The reduced prices now sit at about the same level as Matsuya’s flagship Beef Bowl. The 560 yen Curry Only matches the 560 yen Regular Serving of the Bowl of Mixed Simmered Beef and Kimchi and of the Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish & Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce. The 680 yen with rice matches the 680 yen Large Serving Beef Bowl, and the 880 yen Cheese Founding Beef Curry and Rice matches the 880 yen Large Serving Beef Bowl topped with Cheese. The 950 yen Karegyu is also close to the 960 yen Extra-large Serving of the Bowl of Mixed Simmered Beef and Kimchi.

Among the curries themselves, the 560 yen Founding Beef Curry (Curry Only) is now the most affordable option on the curry menu. Compared with the Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice (980 yen), offered at select stores only, the series has moved into a price range that is easier to pick for everyday meals.

Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice Is Now 260 Yen Cheaper Overall

Of the four items cut this time, the Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice has seen the biggest move. It was already lowered once to 990 yen on June 2, and with this cut to 890 yen, the price has fallen by a cumulative 260 yen over two steps, in June and now, from 1,150 yen at the end of March. That is a drop of about 22.6%. The two cuts came within just under two months, making it the most notable decline among the four.

The Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice Lunch Set, which comes with rice and a salad, remained at 1,040 yen as of July 28, so it did not move along with this cut to the individual items. The Lunch Set has stayed at 1,040 yen since returning on June 2.

The Curry Variation Lineup Keeps Rotating

The Founding Beef Curry and Rice has long been a staple whose variations keep coming and going. In late March the “Founding Beef Tongue Curry and Rice” series, which added beef tongue, joined the lineup but disappeared by early April, and the “Umatoma Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice,” with Umatoma sauce on top, had its discontinuation announced in late May and ended sales in June. With the cast of variations shifting, this time it is the four core items themselves that have all been cut.
