As of 17:53 on June 2, 2026, Matsuya’s official menu page added “Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice Lunch Set” (1,040 yen) to the Curry and Rice Lunch Set category as a new listing. The same-named item in the same category (formerly 1,200 yen) had only just been delisted at 11:11 that morning, and reappeared roughly six and a half hours later, 160 yen cheaper and with reduced nutritional values. At the same time, its counterpart variation, “Umatoma Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice Lunch Set” (1,330 yen), was also delisted.

Positioning of the New Hamburg Steak Version

The newly added Hamburg Steak version (1,040 yen) is the fourth item in the Curry and Rice Lunch Set lineup. Its price sits just above the Cheese version (1,030 yen) and just below the Karegyu version (1,100 yen) within the same lineup.

Compared to the 1,200-yen version, which was sold for about 21 days, the content has been scaled back to bring the price closer to that of the 1,030-yen Cheese version.

When the series launched on May 12, the Hamburg Steak variations within the Curry and Rice Lunch Set lineup consisted of two items: “Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice Lunch Set” (1,200 yen) and “Umatoma Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice Lunch Set” (1,330 yen). Both items were delisted within the day on June 2, and the lineup was reorganized with the addition of a new plain Hamburg Steak version (1,040 yen).

The former plain Hamburg Steak version was delisted preemptively at 11:11, with no discontinuation notice (21 days after its May 12 launch). The Umatoma version had carried a “※To Be Discontinued Successively” notice since May 26, and was delisted today at 17:53, seven days after that notice. With the new plain Hamburg Steak version (1,040 yen) added at the same time, the Hamburg Steak options have been consolidated from two items in the 1,200–1,330 yen range to a single item at 1,040 yen.
