At 10:11 a.m. on June 2, 2026, the Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal was removed from the menu on Matsuya’s official website. Discontinued on day 28 (four weeks) after its release on Tuesday, May 5, it is the first removal among the “three taco rice items” that received a discontinuation notice on May 21. The two items in the Bowl category, Taco Rice (580 yen) and Sausage and Egg Taco Rice (760 yen), were still listed on the menu as of 10:19 a.m. today, so only the Hamburg steak version of the three taco items has been delisted ahead of the others.

Details of the Delisted Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal

The ‘Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal’ was one of three summer menu items released together on May 5, 2026, alongside Taco Rice and Sausage and Egg Taco Rice. It came in two sizes: a set meal (with miso soup and salad) and an Only option.

Variation	Price	Calories	Protein	Fat	Carbohydrates	Salt Equivalent
Set Meal	990 yen	1,028 kcal	37.9g	43.5g	113.8g	5.5g
Only	790 yen	624 kcal	29.8g	41.3g	28.9g	3.9g

Combining taco salsa sauce with Matsuya’s Hamburg steak made for an unusual pairing. At 1,028 kcal, the set meal had more calories than Taco Rice (637 kcal) and Sausage and Egg Taco Rice (793 kcal), making it the most substantial of the three.

Executed 12 Days After the May 21 Discontinuation Notice

In the menu update on the morning of May 21, the note “※To be discontinued successively” was added to all three taco rice items at once. Twelve days passed between the discontinuation notice and the actual delisting, and the Hamburg steak version was the first of the three to go.

Date	Event
Tuesday, May 5, 2026	Released three items: Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal, Taco Rice, and Sausage and Egg Taco Rice
May 9, 2026	Matsuya’s official X account published the development story of the Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal
May 15, 2026	“Bowls & Taco Rice Bundle Deal Campaign” announced (covering Taco Rice and Sausage and Egg Taco Rice)
May 19, 2026	Bundle Deal Campaign began (through May 31)
May 21, 2026	“To be discontinued successively” notice added to the three taco rice items
May 31, 2026	Bundle Deal Campaign ended
June 2, 2026 (today)	Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal delisted

At the time of the May 21 discontinuation notice, Taco Rice and Sausage and Egg Taco Rice were included in the “Bowls & Taco Rice Bundle Deal Campaign” (May 19–31, up to 250 yen off), while the Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal was excluded from it. The one item that got no sales boost became the first of the three to go, removed two days after the Bundle Deal Campaign ended.

Status of the Two Remaining Taco Items

As of 10:19 a.m. today, the other two taco rice items remain on the menu.

Menu Item	Price	Calories	Listing Status on the Morning of June 2
Taco Rice	580 yen	637 kcal	Still listed (with the note “※To be discontinued successively”)
Sausage and Egg Taco Rice	760 yen	793 kcal	Still listed (with the note “※To be discontinued successively”)
Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal	990 yen	1,028 kcal	Delisted at 10:11 a.m. today

The two Bowl category items are also covered by the same discontinuation notice, and the three-item lineup sharing the same sauce and ingredients has now begun to unravel.

Overlap with This Morning’s Hamburg Steak Lineup Overhaul

At 10:00 a.m. today, June 2, the Hamburg steak set meal lineup saw a sweeping change: six items in the ‘Overflowing Three-Kind Rich Cheese-Filled Hamburg Steak’ series were released, three existing Umatoma and Demi-glace Egg items were revamped into a four-tier size lineup, and five items, including the Demi-glace and Hamburg Steak with Demi-glace Sauce and Omelet types, were removed. The delisting of the Hamburg Steak with Taco Salsa Set Meal came from a separate menu update at 10:11 a.m. today. Although it was a planned step following the May 21 discontinuation notice, it was cleared out the same morning as the large-scale overhaul of the Hamburg steak lineup.
