Matsuya's Yakiniku Beef Bowl: Calorie Count for Regular and Large Servings Revised Down by 1 kcal
Matsuya’s official website has updated the nutritional information for its bowl menu item “Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl,” lowering the listed energy values for the Regular Serving and Large Serving by 1 kcal each. Prices remain unchanged for every size, with only the displayed calorie figures affected this time.
Regular and Large Servings Each Down 1 kcal
The Regular Serving, previously listed at 757 kcal on the official menu detail page, has been revised down to 756 kcal, while the Large Serving has dropped from 1039 kcal to 1038 kcal. The Small Serving remains unchanged at 633 kcal. The figures for protein, fat, carbohydrates, and salt equivalent are all unchanged — only the energy value has moved.
| Size | Price | Before | After | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small Serving | 600 yen | 633 kcal | 633 kcal | No change |
| Regular Serving | 630 yen | 757 kcal | 756 kcal | −1 kcal |
| Large Serving | 850 yen | 1039 kcal | 1038 kcal | −1 kcal |
With both the Regular and Large Servings dropping by exactly 1 kcal each while every other nutrient stays put, this looks less like a change to ingredients or portioning and more like a recalculation that revisited how the nutritional figures were rounded.
The Figures Since Launch
Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl launched on August 11, 2026, as a bowl featuring beef grilled on a teppan plate. The Regular Serving price of 630 yen has stayed the same since launch, and the figures of 757 kcal for the Regular Serving and 1039 kcal for the Large Serving were the values displayed on the official site from the very start. This time, both of those two sizes have each been lowered by just 1 kcal.
Where It Stands Among the Four Bowl Items
Matsuya’s bowl category currently lines up Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl alongside the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl, the Boneless Short Rib and Kimchi Bowl, and the Beef Bibimbap Bowl. Comparing energy values across their Regular Servings gives the following:
| Item | Regular Serving Price | Energy | Protein | Fat | Carbohydrates | Salt Equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl | 630 yen | 685 kcal | 23.3g | 25.8g | 86.3g | 5.8g |
| Matsuya’s Yakiniku Beef Bowl | 630 yen | 756 kcal | 20.6g | 32.9g | 93.3g | 4.2g |
| Boneless Short Rib and Kimchi Bowl | 690 yen | 793 kcal | 19.8g | 31.4g | 99.7g | 5.3g |
| Beef Bibimbap Bowl | 690 yen | 840 kcal | 27.2g | 36.0g | 99.7g | 5.5g |
After the downward revision, the Regular Serving’s 756 kcal is the second-lowest of the four items, behind only the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl (685 kcal). Its salt equivalent of 4.2g for the Regular Serving is also the lowest among the four. On price, the 630-yen Regular Serving ties with the Salt-based Green Onion Pork Loin Bowl as the cheapest in the bowl category, 60 yen less than the 690-yen Boneless Short Rib and Kimchi Bowl and Beef Bibimbap Bowl. This price gap holds consistently across the Small, Regular, and Large Servings.
Editor's Note
Just 1 kcal, but it's the kind of thing that catches the eye of anyone eating this every day. A small downward tweak for the Yakiniku Beef Bowl this time.
