Matsuya Foods will launch “Gorochiki Chili Sauce,” a Chinese-style version of its popular “Gorochiki” series, at Matsuya stores nationwide except some locations on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 10:00. The dish pairs Chunky Chicken coated in spicy doubanjiang and a sweet-and-sour special chili sauce with fluffy egg on an iron plate. The announcement lists the Gorochiki Chili Sauce Set Meal at 990 yen. The announcement bills it as a “long-awaited Chinese-style version makes its debut,” but past announcements show that a chili sauce dish was already sold in March 2019 under the name “Chunky Chicken Chili Sauce Set Meal.” Pairing chicken with chili sauce is something the series has tried before.

The announcement also suggests ways to enjoy it: “Eat it together with the fluffy egg spread on the iron plate for a different kind of deliciousness,” and “Boldly pile it over rice for an original ‘bowl-style’ meal.” These include wrapping the chicken in egg and eating it as a bowl.
