On August 25, Matsuya’s official website added a “※To be discontinued successively” notice to the menu pages of all four items in the Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef series, which launched on July 28, 2026. The same notice appears on the standalone bowl, the Double, the Beef Bowl and the Founding Beef Curry and Rice, marking an end-of-sales announcement exactly four weeks after launch.

Two Days After the Official X Account’s “Ending Soon” Post

On August 23, shortly after 12:00, Matsuya’s official X account posted: “Matsuya’s roast beef is ending soon! If you haven’t tried it yet, hurry!” The “※To be discontinued successively” notice now added to the menu pages is the official website’s follow-up to that announcement.

The series launched at 10:00 on July 28 at stores nationwide, except for some locations (the Founding Beef Curry and Rice excludes stores co-located with My Curry Shokudo). The notice gives no specific end date, so the items appear to be ending store by store. Prices have not changed once since launch.

Every item sits in the highest price range of its category, a bold pricing lineup by Matsuya’s standards.

Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef (Only, 880 yen)

This lands in the middle of the 9 current items in the Bowl category. It is 190 yen more than the Beef Bibimbap Bowl and the Boneless Short Rib and Kimchi Bowl (690 yen each), and 100 to 110 yen cheaper than the Grilled Eel Bowl (980 yen) and the Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl (990 yen).

Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef Double (1,470 yen)

This is the most expensive of the 9 current items in the Bowl category. It is 290 yen more than the second most expensive, the Eel Combo Beef Bowl (1,180 yen, store-limited), and its doubled topping makes it a volume-focused build.

How Long Can You Still Get It?

Neither the official site nor the official X account has given a specific end date so far. As the “to be discontinued successively” wording suggests, the items appear to disappear store by store as stock runs out.

Looking at past menu items that carried the same “※To be discontinued successively” notice on Matsuya’s official site, many were removed from the site roughly one week after the notice appeared. Most recently, the “New Grilled Beef Bowl” ended sales in August after carrying the same notice. If past examples hold, the four roast beef items may be gone from the official site by early September. However, since no end date has been stated, it is safest to get one sooner rather than later if you want to be sure to try it.

About a month after the July 28 launch, this series bearing the “Matsuya Original Sauce” name is reaching a turning point.
