Matsuya Adds "To Be Discontinued Successively" Label to All 4 Items in the "Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef" Line

Matsuya’s official website added a “*To be discontinued successively” label, on August 25, to the menu pages of all four items in the “Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef” series, which launched on July 28, 2026. The same label now appears on all four — Only, Double, Beef Bowl, and Founding Beef Curry and Rice — marking a discontinuation notice exactly four weeks after launch.

The Label Arrives Two Days After the Official X Post Announcing an “Imminent End”

Just after noon on August 23, Matsuya’s official X account had posted, “Matsuya’s Roast Beef is coming to an end soon! If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the time!” The “*To be discontinued successively” label that has now appeared on the menu pages is the official website’s follow-up to that announcement.

The line launched at 10 a.m. on July 28 and has been sold nationwide, with the exception of some stores (the Founding Beef Curry and Rice is excluded from stores with an attached My Curry Shokudo). The label gives no specific end date, suggesting stores will phase it out one by one. Prices have not changed since launch.

From the Standalone Item to the Curry — the Same Label on All Four

Each item sits at the top of its category’s price range — a bold pricing lineup by Matsuya’s standards.

Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef (Only, 880 yen)

It ranks in the middle among the 9 bowl items currently on the menu. It’s 190 yen more than the Beef Bibim Bowl and Kimchi Kalbi Bowl (690 yen each), and 100–110 yen less than the Grilled Eel Bowl (980 yen) and Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl (990 yen).

Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef Double (1,470 yen)

This is the priciest of the 9 bowl items currently on the menu. It’s 290 yen more than the second-priciest item, the Eel Combo Beef Bowl (1,180 yen, store-limited), reflecting a volume-focused build with double the topping.

Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef Beef Bowl (1,150 yen)

It’s the only one of the 7 Beef Bowl items currently on the menu priced above 1,000 yen — roughly 2.5 times the price of the base Beef Bowl (460 yen), an unconventional bowl that piles roast beef onto the standard Beef Bowl.

Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef Founding Beef Curry and Rice (1,380 yen)

It’s the priciest of the 6 curry items currently on the menu — 310 yen more than the second-priciest, the Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice (1,070 yen, store-limited), making it the most expensive of the four items in this line.

Calories Range from 643 to 1,029 kcal

The Double comes in at 1,001 kcal and 129.5g of carbohydrates, far exceeding the Only in volume. The Founding Beef Curry and Rice has the highest energy of the four at 1,029 kcal, with fat reaching 46.9g as well.

How Long Will It Be Available?

Neither the official website nor the official X account has given a specific end date as of this writing. As the “To be discontinued successively” label indicates, listings are expected to end store by store as inventory runs out.

Looking at past menu items on Matsuya’s official website that carried the same “*To be discontinued successively” label, many were removed from the site roughly a week or so after the label first appeared. Most recently, in August, the New Grilled Beef Bowl went through the same label before ending sales. Following that pattern, the four Roast Beef items could disappear from the official website sometime around the start of September, but since no end date has been stated, anyone who wants to be sure to try them would be wise to do so sooner rather than later.

About a month after its July 28 launch, this series bearing the “Matsuya Original Sauce” name is set to reach a turning point.
