Matsuya Revises Late-Night Closures Again at 8 Aichi Prefecture Stores During Obon Period

StoreUpdated

Store information on Matsuya’s official website shows that late-night closure schedules for early-to-mid August have been revised all at once across eight Matsuya locations in Aichi Prefecture. All eight stores are in Aichi, with the closure dates spread across August 1–15, spanning the Obon holiday period. The August late-night closure schedule had only just been updated broadly across 55 stores in the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku regions on July 31 — and the very next day, these eight Aichi stores alone received a targeted follow-up revision.

Closure Schedules at Each of the 8 Stores

The settings before and after the change are as follows. Of the eight stores, six normally operate 24 hours a day, excluding Konan Store (5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the next day) and Toyohashi Tsutsujigaoka Store (whose hours vary by day of the week).

The direction of the changes varies by store. At three stores — Anjo Nishikimachi, Toyota Totsuka, and Nishio — the reopening time after closure was uniformly pushed back by one hour. Toyohashi Tsutsujigaoka gained a newly added closure on August 10, while Konan had its now-past July closure dates replaced with August ones (August 7 and 13). Kariya Hidaka saw its dates and time slots reorganized wholesale, and Miyoshi had its closure hours themselves shortened. Toyota Yamanote alone had all of its closure entries removed and returned to normal operation. The store has previously seen closure settings added and then removed, and this appears to be part of the same pattern.

All Eight Stores in Aichi Prefecture, Two in Toyota City

Of the eight stores, two — Toyota Yamanote and Toyota Totsuka — are in Toyota City, with one store each in Anjo, Toyohashi, Kariya, Konan, Nishio, and Miyoshi cities, spanning seven cities in total. Not a single store from another prefecture is included; this round is notable for being confined entirely to Aichi Prefecture. Matsuya operates 54 stores in Aichi Prefecture, meaning the eight stores affected this time account for roughly 15% of the total.

Of these, four stores — Toyota Yamanote, Toyota Totsuka, Nishio, and Miyoshi — are dual-brand locations that also house a Matsunoya tonkatsu restaurant.

Monthly Schedule Updates Continue Across the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku Regions

In the Tokai, Kinki, and Hokuriku regions, late-night closure schedules have been updated in bulk on a monthly basis in June and July, and this August update continues that pattern. This latest change is positioned as an additional revision made immediately after the August schedule was first reflected, so anyone planning to visit a store late at night during the Obon travel and outing season should double-check the closure hours for their store of choice.

Editor's Note

Toyota Yamanote Store quietly slipped back to normal operation on its own. Comparing all eight Aichi stores side by side really shows how finely tuned these Obon late-night shift adjustments are.
