Matsuya is opening a new store in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture. The store, “Matsuya Okinawa Hiyane Store (2311),” will be co-located with Matsunoya. The scheduled opening is 10:00 a.m. on September 18, 2026, and it has been listed ahead of time as an upcoming opening in Matsuya’s official store information. The address is 5-2-2 Hiyane, Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture.

11th Store in Okinawa, 2nd in Okinawa City

With the opening of the Okinawa Hiyane Store, Matsuya Group will have 11 stores in Okinawa Prefecture. The most recent new store in Okinawa was Matsuya Ginowan Store (2302), which opened on May 22, 2026 and was reported at the time as the “10th store in Okinawa.” The Hiyane Store is positioned as the 11th in the prefecture, following the Ginowan Store.

Within Okinawa City, it will be the second Matsuya, following the existing Matsuya Okinawa Chibana Store (2520). The two stores are about 5.9 km apart in a straight line.

Nationwide, Okinawa’s store network is small compared with the major metropolitan areas, such as Tokyo with 338 stores and Kanagawa Prefecture with 112 stores, but this new store gives Okinawa added depth as a region with double-digit store counts.

Co-located with Matsunoya

The Okinawa Hiyane Store will be co-located with Matsunoya, which serves tonkatsu and katsu bowls. Matsuya Okinawa Chibana Store, also in Okinawa City, is a Matsunoya co-located store as well, making the Hiyane Store the second “Matsuya + Matsunoya” combination in Okinawa City.

New Stores Scheduled to Open in September, One After Another

Matsuya’s official store information has also listed, ahead of time, other new stores scheduled to open in September besides the Hiyane Store. Each has an opening date set a few weeks after it was first listed.

Store	Scheduled Opening Date
Matsuya Musashimurayama Store	September 1
Matsuya Seki Store	September 4
Matsuya TOFROM Yaesu Store	September 10
Matsuya Okinawa Hiyane Store	September 18

Regarding Matsuya in Okinawa, in early August 2026 all stores in the prefecture temporarily suspended operations and reopened the following day. This expansion of the prefecture’s store network comes against that backdrop.
