Matsuya to Open "Okinawa Hiyane Store," Its 11th in Okinawa Prefecture, on September 18

It has come to light that Matsuya will open a new store in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture. The store is named “Matsuya Okinawa Hiyane Store (2311)” and will be co-located with Matsunoya. The opening is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on September 18, 2026, and the store already appears as an upcoming opening on Matsuya’s official store information page. The address is 5-2-2 Hiyane, Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture.

11th Store in Okinawa Prefecture, 2nd in Okinawa City

With the opening of the Okinawa Hiyane Store, the number of Matsuya Group stores in Okinawa Prefecture will reach 11. The most recent addition in Okinawa Prefecture was Matsuya Ginowan Store (2302), which opened on May 22, 2026, and was reported at the time as the “10th store in Okinawa Prefecture.” The new store is positioned as the prefecture’s 11th, following the Ginowan Store.

Within Okinawa City, it will be the second Matsuya store, following the existing Matsuya Okinawa Chibana Store (2520). The two stores are about 5.9 km apart in a straight line.

Nationwide, Okinawa Prefecture’s store network remains small compared to major metropolitan areas such as Tokyo, with 338 stores, and Kanagawa Prefecture, with 112. Still, this new store adds further depth to a region that now counts its stores in double digits.

Co-located with Matsunoya

The Okinawa Hiyane Store will be co-located with Matsunoya, which serves tonkatsu and katsu bowls. Matsuya Okinawa Chibana Store, also in Okinawa City, is likewise a Matsunoya co-located store, making the Hiyane Store the second “Matsuya + Matsunoya” combination in Okinawa City.

A String of New Stores Set to Open in September

Matsuya’s official store information also lists other new stores scheduled to open in September, in addition to the Hiyane Store. In each case, the opening date is set several weeks after the listing appeared.
