Matsuya Oshu-Mizusawa and Utsubohonmachi Stores Drop 'Opening June 27 at 10 AM' Notice from Store Names

Both stores are 24-hour locations co-located with Matsunoya, and opened as scheduled on June 27 at 10 AM. The opening notice that had been appended to the store names on the official Matsuya website has now been removed, and the registered opening date has also been cleared.

Store Name Changes

On the store pages of the official Matsuya website, the store name listings for Matsuya Oshu-Mizusawa Store (2275) in Oshu, Iwate Prefecture, and Matsuya Utsubohonmachi Store (2285) in Nishi Ward, Osaka, changed as follows.

Along with this, the registered opening date of “June 27, 2026, 10 AM” for both stores has also been cleared. The “(co-located with Matsunoya)” notation remains for both stores. The official X account announced the simultaneous opening of both stores on June 27, and now that both have opened as scheduled, the pre-opening notice has been retired, leaving them listed as regular operating stores.

At both stores, a late-night surcharge of around 7% is added from 10 PM to 5 AM the following morning.

Regional Context

Oshu-Mizusawa Store is the 7th Matsuya location in Iwate Prefecture, and the only Matsuya in Oshu. Until now, Iwate had 5 stores in Morioka and 1 in Ichinoseki; the new store in Oshu, in the southern part of the prefecture, fills in an area that had previously been a gap.

Utsubohonmachi Store is the 4th location in Nishi Ward, Osaka, following the Yotsubashi, Higobashi, and Kujo stores. Matsuya now has 111 stores in Osaka Prefecture, and this new location is in an area near Utsubo Park that mixes office buildings and residences.
