Matsuya to Open 'Yasu Store,' Its First Location in Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture, on November 20

Matsuya is opening its first store in Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture. The new store, ‘Matsuya Yasu Store (2291),’ will be located at 2377-1 and 2378-1 Aza Shikagahata, Ichimiyake, Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture, and is scheduled to open at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 20, 2026. This marks Matsuya’s first store in Yasu City, and the store information is listed on the official website as a pre-opening schedule.

In Shiga Prefecture, the Chain Will Reach 13 Stores After Opening

Once the Yasu Store opens, the number of Matsuya locations operating in Shiga Prefecture will reach 13. The 12 existing stores in the prefecture have been distributed across Kusatsu City, Ritto City, Otsu City, Omihachiman City, Higashiomi City, Hikone City, Nagahama City, Koka City, and Maibara City, so the new store in Yasu City adds a location in a city that had previously been without a Matsuya. Separately, the Hikone Store (0709) in Hikone City closed as of September 30, 2026, and the Yasu Store will be the first new store to join the prefecture’s lineup since then.

Opening as a Store Co-located with ‘Matsunoya’

The Yasu Store is listed as a store co-located with Matsunoya, the tonkatsu-format chain. Of the 13 stores in the prefecture including the Yasu Store, 12 are co-located with Matsunoya, with only the Ibuki PA (Up-bound) Store (2042) in Maibara City standing alone without a Matsunoya. The Yasu Store, too, follows the standard Matsunoya co-located format seen elsewhere in the prefecture.

North of the Kusatsu/Ritto Area

Among the existing stores in the prefecture, the Yasu Store’s location is closest to the Ritto Shiyakusho-mae Store (2226) and the Ritto Ryosenji Store (2207). Both are roughly 5 kilometers away in a straight line, and the Kusatsu Eki-Nishiguchi Store (2178) is about 7 kilometers away, placing the new store to the north of the cluster of locations in the Kusatsu/Ritto area. Note that the straight-line distances given here are approximate, calculated from latitude and longitude, and differ from actual road distances.

New Store Openings Continue Nationwide

Matsuya continues to open new stores nationwide. Most recently, the Okawa Store (2326), the chain’s first location in Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is scheduled to open on November 5, 2026. The Yasu Store is the latest addition to appear on the official website amid this ongoing wave of new openings.
