StoreTemporarily Closed

It has come to light that Matsuya Kakogawa Noguchicho Store (1865) will temporarily close from 22:00 on October 19, 2026 to 9:00 on October 27, 2026. The store information page on the official Matsuya website now shows a temporary closure notice and reopening date added to the store’s name.

Roughly 7 Days and 11 Hours, From Monday Night to the Following Tuesday Morning

The closure begins at 22:00 on Monday, October 19, and operations resume at 9:00 on Tuesday, October 27. The period spans roughly 7 days and 11 hours. The official Matsuya website gives no reason for the closure.

Similar temporary closures continue at Matsuya stores around the country, with reopening periods varying widely from store to store. Looking at recent cases, some last as short as about 2 days, while others run as long as around 2 weeks. At roughly 7 days and 11 hours, Kakogawa Noguchicho Store’s closure falls right around the middle of that range.

3rd Case Within Kakogawa City; No My Curry Shokudo Attached

Kakogawa Noguchicho Store is located at Sakamoto, Noguchicho, Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture. Other Matsuya locations within Kakogawa City include Kakogawa Hiraokacho Store and Gongen-ko PA (Up-bound) Store, making Noguchicho Store one of three. Noguchicho Store and Kakogawa Hiraokacho Store are about 2.3 kilometers apart in a straight line.

While Kakogawa Hiraokacho Store has a My Curry Shokudo, the curry-focused format, attached, Noguchicho Store operates as a standalone Matsuya. Within Hyogo Prefecture, 5 of the 36 Matsuya stores have a My Curry Shokudo attached, with Hiraokacho Store being the one in Kakogawa City.

36 Matsuya Stores in Hyogo Prefecture, Temporary Closures Continuing Nationwide

Hyogo Prefecture has 36 Matsuya stores, the 7th most of Japan’s 47 prefectures. Kakogawa Noguchicho Store, now set to close, is one of those 36.

The official Matsuya website currently lists 8 stores with temporary closures either announced or already in effect, including Kakogawa Noguchicho Store. The others are Kamisu Store, Hiratsuka Kitakaname Store, Higashi-Totsuka Nishiguchi Store, Kawaguchi Ekimae Store, Omiya Higashiguchi Store, Kita-Akabane Store, and Chiba Store, spread across the country with a concentration in the Kanto region. For a chain with stores spread nationwide like Matsuya, this pattern of stores repeatedly closing and reopening is nothing unusual.

Editor's Note

Reopening comes Tuesday morning at 9:00, after just over a week off. Anyone in Kakogawa who can't wait that long could head about 2 kilometers over to Hiraokacho Store instead.
