Matsuya Launches 'Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set' Today — Up to 70 Yen Off When Paired with Classic Menu

Matsuya began selling the “Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set for Classic Menu Items” at 10:00 a.m. on September 15, letting customers pair miso soup with pork and vegetables with a classic menu item. That same morning, the official Matsuya app sent out a notification headlined “9/15 (Tue) 10:00~ Piping-hot Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables — Up to 《70 Yen Off》‼️,” giving the launch an extra push on release day.

Discount Splits Into Three Tiers

The discount on the set varies across three tiers depending on which classic menu item it’s paired with: Beef Bowl-based sets get 30 yen off, bowl-based sets get 50 yen off, and set meal-based sets get 70 yen off. The notification headline’s “up to 《70 yen off》” refers to the set meal tier, which carries the largest discount. The setup is designed so that ordering the Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set alongside an eligible classic item comes out cheaper than adding the soup à la carte.

Announced Through Three Channels Starting September 10

This app notification wasn’t the first word of the launch. Matsuya first previewed it in a September 10 notice on its official website: “Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, we will begin selling the Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set for Classic Menu Items.” At 6:00 p.m. on September 11, the official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted the same launch date and time: “The Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set goes on sale from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15.” A September 14 notice then added word of an app-exclusive point campaign, and this app notification, delivered on the morning of the 15th itself, capped off the run of announcements that had unfolded across the website notice, the official X post, and the app notification.

App-Exclusive 70-Point Bonus Running in Parallel

Starting the same day as the launch, September 15, the app-exclusive “Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set Bento Point Boost Campaign” has also begun. Under it, purchasing an eligible Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set through Matsuben Net or Matsuya Mobile Order earns 70 Matsuya Points, with the campaign running through 11:59 p.m. on September 28. Matsuben Delivery is not eligible. This point rebate for takeout and mobile orders runs on its own track, separate from the in-store set discount.

Reused Phrasing and Notification-Only Flourishes

The notification text reads: “具だくさんで満足度がトンでもない🐷💨いつものメニューにプラスでいかが✨？” — “Packed with ingredients, the satisfaction is unbelievable 🐷💨 How about adding it to your usual order? ✨” Of this, “packed with ingredients” (具だくさん) is phrasing carried over from earlier messaging: it also appeared in the September 10 website notice (“Add Matsuya’s ingredient-packed miso soup with pork and vegetables to your set”) and the September 11 official X post (“Please enjoy Matsuya’s ingredient-packed miso soup with pork and vegetables”). On the other hand, “満足度がトンでもない” — a pun blending 豚 (ton, “pork”) with とんでもない (tondemonai, “incredible”) — the steam-evoking 🐷💨 emoji, the sensory word “アツアツ” (piping hot), and the emphasis added by the 《》brackets in the headline don’t appear in the corresponding website notice or official X post. They were written exclusively for this notification.

Steady Classic Pricing and the Tuesday Discount Slot

Classic miso soup with pork and vegetables items — starting with the 240-yen Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Only — have had their prices held steady all along. Matsuya has also continued running discount promotions tied to classic menu items in its Tuesday release slot since mid-August, and this new Miso Soup with Pork & Vegetables Set follows that same pattern.
