Matsuya's 'Beef Bowl Bento' 2-Piece and 3-Piece Sets Get Nutrition Update, Salt Content Nearly Doubles

As of October 22, 2026, it has come to light that the displayed nutritional information (for the Regular Serving) of Matsuya’s “Beef Bowl Bento 2-Piece Set” and “Beef Bowl Bento 3-Piece Set” has been rewritten from its previous values. All five items increased for both sets, and the salt equivalent in particular more than doubled for both: the 2-Piece Set rose from 2.9g to 6.0g, and the 3-Piece Set rose from 4.3g to 9.0g. The prices remain unchanged at 900 yen for the 2-Piece Set and 1,320 yen for the 3-Piece Set.

Updated Figures Match Exactly Double and Triple the Regular Serving Beef Bowl

The updated figures match, across all five items, exactly double or triple the nutritional values of a single current Regular Serving Beef Bowl (480 yen). The published values for a Regular Serving Beef Bowl are 670kcal energy, 18.8g protein, 27.2g fat, 85.9g carbohydrates, and 3.00g salt equivalent. Doubling these yields the new values for the 2-Piece Set (1,340kcal, 37.6g, 54.4g, 171.8g, 6.0g), while tripling them yields the new values for the 3-Piece Set (2,010kcal, 56.4g, 81.6g, 257.7g, 9.0g).

The Beef Bowl Bento 2-Piece Set packs two servings of Beef Bowl, and the 3-Piece Set packs three, both aimed at bulk buyers. The updated nutritional values now line up exactly with that many single servings of Beef Bowl added together. By contrast, the previous salt equivalent figures (2.9g for the 2-Piece Set, 4.3g for the 3-Piece Set) fell short of 6.0g and 9.0g — the values obtained by doubling and tripling the 3.00g salt equivalent of a single Beef Bowl serving.

A New Page Swapped In With the October 13 Price Revision

Both sets had only just switched to new menu pages priced at 900 yen and 1,320 yen, timed to coincide with the October 13, 2026 price increase that raised the Regular Serving Beef Bowl from 460 yen to 480 yen. This nutritional update comes nine days after those new pages appeared. The official announcement covering the October 13 price revision lists items such as the Regular Serving Beef Bowl, but does not mention these bento sets by name.

The Only 2 Survivors Out of 13 Items

The Beef Bowl Bento 2-Piece Set and 3-Piece Set are also among the few survivors of the bulk-buy Beef Bowl Bento set lineup. On July 14, 2026, 11 out of 13 Beef Bowl Bento set items — which had varied in size and seasoning, including 4-Piece and 5-Piece Sets as well as bento sets of Beef Bowl topped with Grated Radish ＆ Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce and Beef Bowl topped with Green Onion and Soft Boiled Egg — were delisted all at once, leaving only the Regular Serving 2-Piece Set and 3-Piece Set. It is these same two items that have now both had their nutritional information updated.

Separately, around the same time as the October 13 price revision, Matsuya also revised the nutritional information for six single-item side menu items, such as the Beef Plate, while keeping their prices unchanged — part of an ongoing review of its nutritional labeling.
