Matsuya Expands Operating Hours at 6 Stores Including Kitami Tokiwa Store

It has been learned that Matsuya changed operating hours at six stores nationwide all at once on August 3, 2026. The changes vary — earlier opening times, later closing times, a switch to 24-hour operation — but all of them extend business hours. The stores involved are four clustered in eastern Osaka Prefecture, Sakae 3-chome Store (1926) in Nagoya, and Kitami Tokiwa Store (2252) in Hokkaido, spanning widely separated regions.

The Four Eastern Osaka Prefecture Stores: Earlier Opening and Later Closing

The four stores in eastern Osaka Prefecture changed as follows.

Suminodo, Hanaten, and Daito Gokuden stores moved their opening time an hour earlier, from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., while Kayashima Store extended its closing time an hour later, from 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. the next day. All four stores also shortened their last order window from 30 minutes before closing to 15 minutes before closing. The pattern of setting the opening time at 4:00 a.m. with last orders 15 minutes before closing has been spreading across Matsuya stores nationwide, and the four eastern stores now follow that same trend.

Looking at the geographic relationship among the four stores, Suminodo and Daito Gokuden are both located within Daito City, roughly 900 meters apart in a straight line — close enough to be within walking distance of each other. Kayashima Store is in Kadoma City, and Hanaten Store is in Tsurumi Ward, Osaka City; all four stores fall within roughly a 6-kilometer radius.

Nagoya’s Sakae 3-chome Store Moves from Daytime-Only to Nearly All-Day Operation

Nagoya’s Sakae 3-chome Store had previously operated during daytime hours only, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., but on August 3 it expanded dramatically to 4:30 a.m.–3:00 a.m. the next day. Business hours now span roughly 22.5 hours, making it effectively an almost round-the-clock operation. The last order time remains unchanged at 30 minutes before closing. Unlike the four eastern stores, which shifted their opening and closing times only slightly, this is a change that reshapes the entire operating window.

Kitami Tokiwa Store Returns to 24-Hour Operation After Four Days

Kitami Tokiwa Store in Kitami City, Hokkaido, switched to 24-hour operation on August 3. Before the change, its hours varied by day of the week: 9:00 a.m.–10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, opening at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, 24-hour operation on Saturday, and hours until 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The store had only just ended 24-hour operation and switched to this day-by-day schedule on July 30, meaning it returned to 24-hour operation again after just four days. Kitami Tokiwa Store is the only Matsuya location in Kitami City, an area with relatively few Matsuya stores even within Hokkaido.

Since July, a string of stores across the country — Osaka among them — have switched to 24-hour operation or expanded their business hours, and this round of changes at six stores is part of that same trend.
