Matsuya will run a Rakuten Pay payment point-rebate campaign to commemorate the Matsuya Foods official app reaching 6 million members, from 10:00 a.m. on October 1 to 11:59 p.m. on October 15. When customers order through Matsuben Net, Matsuya Mobile Order, or Matsuben Delivery and prepay with Rakuten Pay, they receive Rakuten Points on purchases of 800 yen or more (tax included) on weekdays, and 1,000 yen or more (tax included) on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. It is the second 6-million-member commemorative campaign, following the PayPay coupon announced the day before, on September 29.

Up to 10% on Weekdays, Up to 15% on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays — The Minimum Spend Also Changes by Day

The rebate rate and conditions come in two tiers depending on the day. On weekdays (Monday through Friday), prepaying 800 yen or more (tax included) earns up to 10% back in Rakuten Points; on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, spending 1,000 yen or more (tax included) earns up to 15% back. The official announcement notes that the 10% rebate applies only to weekday prepayments and does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Advance entry is required, and the cap on points granted during the campaign period is 10,000 points. Orders through Matsuben Net also earn Matsuya Points based on the order amount, so customers collect both Rakuten Points and Matsuya Points.

Changing the minimum spend itself by day of the week is a distinctive feature of this campaign. In past Rakuten Pay campaigns, even when the rebate rate differed between weekdays and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the minimum spend was the same. The most recent campaign to vary the rate by day, in December 2025 (15% on weekends and 5% on weekdays), also used the same 800 yen minimum on weekdays and weekends alike.

A Single Seared Grilled Salmon Set Meal on Weekdays, Up to a Hamburg Steak Set Meal on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays

Applying the minimum spend to actual menu items, the best dish to aim for changes by day. On weekdays, the 800 yen minimum cannot be reached with a Regular Serving Beef Bowl (460 yen) alone. The cheapest set meal that meets the condition is the Seared Grilled Salmon Set Meal (800 yen), which hits the threshold exactly. The Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal (850 yen), the Stir-fried Pork and Eggplant with Spicy Miso Set Meal (880 yen), and the Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib Set Meal, Yakiniku Beef Set Meal, and Black Mapo Tofu Set Meal (all 890 yen) also clear the weekday condition with a single set meal. Ordering the Seared Grilled Salmon Set Meal on a weekday earns up to 80 points.

On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, by contrast, the 1,000 yen minimum is out of reach for any of these set meals on their own (the highest is 890 yen). Reaching 1,000 yen with a single item requires the Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce Set Meal or the Umatoma Hamburg Steak Set Meal (both 1,180 yen) or above, which earns up to 177 points. A set meal at 890 yen can also be combined with a side dish (80 to 150 yen) to go past 1,000 yen.

The Difference From the PayPay Version Running at the Same Time: The Per-Order Cap

The PayPay coupon announced the day before is also a 6-million-member commemorative campaign and runs at the same time. The two have similar rebate rates and qualifying amounts, but differ in duration and in the cap per order.

Item Rakuten Pay PayPay
Period Oct. 1–15 Oct. 1–31
Weekday rebate Up to 10% on 800 yen or more Up to 10% on 800 yen or more
Saturday/Sunday/holiday rebate Up to 15% on 1,000 yen or more No distinction
Cap per order None 200 points (up to 5 times during the period)
Cap during the period 10,000 points 1,000 points

The gap shows up when the order amount is large. Once a single order exceeds 2,000 yen, the PayPay version is capped at 200 points per order, whereas the Rakuten Pay version keeps its rebate rate until the cap for the whole period is reached. For uses where a single order tends to grow, such as Matsuben Delivery orders that combine meals for a whole family, the difference in what comes back widens.

6 Million Reached, Two Commemorative Campaigns So Far

Milestones for Matsuya App membership have arrived at a pace of roughly 150 to 190 days since the 3 million mark in February 2024. The 6 million mark was reached at the end of September.

The number of commemorative campaigns varies from milestone to milestone. When 5 million was reached, campaigns for four payment brands were rolled out on the same day, but at the 5.5 million milestone just before this one, there was only a single PayPay campaign. This time, for 6 million, there are two campaigns, PayPay and Rakuten Pay, and neither announcement carries a numbered “Part X” label. This series has not been announced on the official X account and has been publicized only on the announcement page of the official website.
