Matsuya to Open Three New Stores in Kurashiki, Yamagata, and Suminoe in Succession from Mid-November
Matsuya will open new stores in succession across Okayama, Yamagata, and Osaka prefectures. Three stores — Matsuya Kurashiki Oshima (2296), Matsuya Yamagata Mamigasaki (2315), and Matsuya Suminoe Shin-Kitajima (2631) — have been added to the store list on Matsuya’s official website as new stores opening in November 2026. Matsuya Yamagata Mamigasaki opens first on November 12, followed by Matsuya Kurashiki Oshima on November 20, and Matsuya Suminoe Shin-Kitajima on November 21. All three stores share the same features: a 10:00 a.m. opening, 24-hour operation, and co-location with Matsunoya.
Location and Opening Date of the Three Stores
| Store | Address | Opening Date |
|---|---|---|
| Matsuya Yamagata Mamigasaki | Mamigasaki 1-chome 13-16, Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture | November 12, 10:00 a.m. |
| Matsuya Kurashiki Oshima | Oshima 51-1, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture | November 20, 10:00 a.m. |
| Matsuya Suminoe Shin-Kitajima | Shin-Kitajima 4-1-2, Suminoe Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture | November 21, 10:00 a.m. |
The Third Matsuya in Each City or Ward
All three stores are opening in a city or ward that already has an existing Matsuya, making each the third Matsuya location in its area.
Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, where Matsuya Kurashiki Oshima is joining, already has Matsuya Kurashiki Tamashima (1396) and Matsuya Kurashiki Mizushima (1942). Following the Tamashima area and the Nakaune area, this new store will be located in the Oshima area.
Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture, where Matsuya Yamagata Mamigasaki is joining, already has Matsuya Yamagatafukamachi (0717) and Matsuya Yamagataekimae (0775). Following Fukamachi and Kasumicho (near the station), this new store will be located at Mamigasaki 1-chome.
Suminoe Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, where Matsuya Suminoe Shin-Kitajima is joining, already has Matsuya Suminoekoen (0629) and Matsuya Misaki (1843). The existing Matsuya Suminoekoen’s address is Shin-Kitajima 1-1-7, while the new Matsuya Suminoe Shin-Kitajima’s address is Shin-Kitajima 4-1-2 — both fall under the same “Shin-Kitajima” address. This means another Matsuya is being added within the same district name (the block numbers differ, 1-chome versus 4-chome).
All Three Stores Co-located with Matsunoya
All three new stores are listed, in the store information on Matsuya’s official website, as locations co-located with Matsunoya, the tonkatsu-format chain. Among the existing stores, the two in Kurashiki City and Matsuya Yamagatafukamachi are listed as co-located with Matsunoya, while Matsuya Yamagataekimae, Matsuya Suminoekoen, and Matsuya Misaki carry no such listing. In recent years, newly opened stores have increasingly taken this combined-location format, and these three new stores follow the same pattern.
An Autumn of Successive New Store Openings
On Matsuya’s official website store list, new store openings continue to be listed one after another across the country from autumn onward. It is not unusual for multiple stores to be added to the list as new openings around the same time — on October 8, four stores nationwide were added as new stores in a single batch. This round’s three stores span different regions — Okayama, Yamagata, and Osaka — but they share one thing in common: each will be the third Matsuya in a city or ward that already has existing stores.
Editor's Note
Whether it's Kurashiki, Yamagata, or Suminoe, the neighborhood Matsuya has quietly become a third location. One more city where you can get a Beef Bowl around the clock.
