Matsuya to Cut Prices on All 13 "MATSUYA DELI" Items by Up to 140 Yen

On October 21, 2026, Matsuya Foods announced that it will cut prices across all 13 items in its takeout prepared-food series “MATSUYA DELI,” effective 3 PM on Tuesday, October 27. The cut is 80 yen for Beef Plate items, 70 yen for Beef Curry & Rice, and 140 yen for Yakiniku and Hamburg Steak items, with the largest discount bringing an item’s new price down by 140 yen. The cut applies at Matsuya locations nationwide, excluding some stores. All prices include tax.

The price cut covers 13 items in total: six Beef Plate items, one Beef Curry & Rice item, and six Yakiniku/Hamburg Steak items. The old and new prices for each item are as follows.

Beef Plate DELI, which becomes the cheapest item, drops from 370 yen to 290 yen, falling below the 300-yen mark. The Yakiniku/Hamburg Steak items see the largest discount, with Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib DELI, Yakiniku Beef DELI, and Umatoma Hamburg Steak DELI all moving from 690 yen to 550 yen.

First Announcement to Headline a Price Cut in About 14 and a Half Years

It is rare for a Matsuya official announcement to put “price cut” front and center. Looking back through past announcements, the previous one dates to March 2012, when Matsuya announced a permanent price cut for its Yakiniku Pork Set Meal and Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal — making this the first such announcement in roughly 14 and a half years.

In recent years, Matsuya has repeatedly revised prices upward amid rising raw material costs, and announcements going the other direction have long been scarce. This time the cut is limited to the takeout-only MATSUYA DELI line, but it is still the first announcement in a long while to put the word “price cut” front and center.

A Permanent Price Cut 56 Days After Launch, Following a Limited-Time Fair

MATSUYA DELI is a new series launched on September 1, 2026, and this price cut, taking effect on October 27, comes just 56 days after launch. At launch, Matsuya ran a limited-time “Trial Fair” through 10 AM on September 15 offering bulk-buy discounts, but this time, separate from that limited-time discount, it is a permanent cut to the list price of each single item.

Matsuya’s regular Beef Bowl and Set Meal items were just raised in a price revision on October 13, and two weeks later the takeout DELI line is being discounted. In its announcement, Matsuya explains that this is “in appreciation for everyone who regularly uses Matsuya,” adding that the items are “reborn at an even more affordable price.”

Beef Plate Items Used to Match the In-Store Single-Item Price

Before the cut, the prices of the six Beef Plate DELI items matched, down to the yen, the price of ordering the same dish (without rice or salad) as a single item in-store. In-store, Beef Plate (Regular Serving) is 370 yen, Green Onion and Soft-boiled Egg Beef Plate is 570 yen, Beef Plate w/ Grated Radish ＆ Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce and Kimchi Beef Plate are both 470 yen, Cheese Beef Plate is 570 yen, and Tomato and Cheese Beef Plate is 600 yen — all identical to the pre-cut prices of the corresponding DELI items.

From October 27, these six items all drop by a flat 80 yen, so for example Beef Plate DELI becomes 290 yen, 80 yen cheaper than ordering the Beef Plate dish alone in-store. After the cut, the takeout DELI items are priced lower than ordering the same single dish in-store.

Participating Stores and Notes on Use

The cut applies at Matsuya locations nationwide, excluding some stores. However, stores that also operate as My Curry Shokudo do not carry Beef Curry & Rice DELI. Shareholder benefit vouchers cannot be used at the new prices. Orders can also be placed through the reservation-based “Matsuben Net” and Matsuya Mobile Order.
