Matsuya Launches New Takeout Series "MATSUYA DELI" with All 13 Items Today
Matsuya began selling “MATSUYA DELI,” a new takeout series of dishes and side items you can bring home for meals or as a drinking snack, at 10:00 a.m. on September 1. The lineup consists of 13 items, each a single serving of ingredients familiar from Matsuya’s Beef Bowls and Set Meals, priced from 370 to 690 yen. It is available at Matsuya locations nationwide, except for some stores. From the same day through 10:00 a.m. on September 15, Matsuya is also running a limited-time “Trial Fair” offering discounts on bulk purchases.
All 13 items from Simmered Beef & Onion to Hamburg Steak, starting at 370 yen
According to Matsuya’s official website, the lineup consists of 13 items: six based on Simmered Beef & Onion, two Hamburg Steak items, four Yakiniku/ginger-soy-sauce stir-fry items, and one curry item. The cheapest is “Simmered Beef & Onion DELI” at 370 yen, while the most expensive are “Yakiniku Beef DELI” and “Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib DELI,” both at 690 yen.
Most of the DELI items carry over pricing already familiar from Matsuya’s existing menu. The table below lines up each DELI item’s price against the equivalent existing menu item at the same price.

The pricing simply carries over the existing “Only” option
The “Only” referenced here means an item served on its own, without the Rice, Miso Soup, and Pickled Vegetables that come with a Set Meal. As shown in the table, eight items — Simmered Beef & Onion DELI, Founding Beef Curry and Rice DELI, the two Hamburg Steak items, the three Yakiniku items, and Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce DELI — match their corresponding existing “Only” prices down to the yen. The four Simmered Beef & Onion-based items also line up exactly with the 370-yen Simmered Beef & Onion plus the existing side toppings: Green Onion & Egg (200 yen), Oni-oroshi Grated Radish (100 yen), Mt. Fuji Kimchi (100 yen), and Extra Cheese (200 yen).
In other words, rather than introducing brand-new pricing, the DELI series takes ingredients that had been centerpieces of Set Meals and Bowls and repackages them for takeout at their existing “Only” prices. Matsuya’s side menu already included a standalone “Simmered Beef & Onion” item at 370 yen, but Yakiniku, Hamburg Steak, and Founding Beef Curry and Rice had mainly been served as part of a Set Meal or curry plate; giving these standalone ingredients their own names is a new move.
Up to 450 yen off for bulk purchases: the “Trial Fair”
To mark the launch, Matsuya is running a limited-time “Trial Fair” from 10:00 a.m. on September 1 through 10:00 a.m. on September 15. During this period, buying multiple DELI items together brings the price down: 300 yen off for a set of two, and 450 yen off for a set of three.
In the official sample combinations, a three-item set of “Simmered Beef & Onion DELI + Founding Beef Curry and Rice DELI + Umatoma Hamburg Steak DELI” drops from a regular 1,560 yen to 1,110 yen, and “Umatoma Hamburg Steak DELI + Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce DELI + Simmered Beef & Onion DELI” drops from a regular 1,630 yen to 1,180 yen. Even a two-item set — “Simmered Beef & Onion DELI + any other Simmered Beef & Onion DELI” — drops from a regular 840 yen to 540 yen. A flat discount applies across every combination.
From 10:00 a.m. on September 15 onward, the discount continues at a reduced rate: 200 yen off for a set of two and 300 yen off for a set of three.
Ordering through the app keeps the bigger discount: “MATSUYA DELI à la Carte”
Orders placed through the official Matsuya app keep a larger discount regardless of the date. Choosing any combination brings tiered discounts — 300 yen off for a set of two, 450 yen off for a set of three, 600 yen off for a set of four, and 750 yen off for a set of five — and these continue even after 10:00 a.m. on September 15. The app’s promotional image prominently states “Save up to 750 yen!,” referring to the 750-yen discount on a five-item set.
To order through the app, select “MATSUYA DELI à la Carte.” Note, however, that this à la carte option excludes the four Yakiniku and ginger-soy-sauce stir-fry items: Yakiniku Beef DELI, Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib DELI, Yakiniku Pork Loin DELI, and Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce DELI. Pickup is handled through Matsuya Mobile Order and Matsuben Net.
The “MATSUYA DELI” name first appeared in July
This is not the first time the “MATSUYA DELI” name has appeared on Matsuya’s menu. In July, a takeout-only “MATSUYA DELI Hamburg Steak & Boneless Short Rib Plate” (800 yen) was sold as a store-limited item at 30 stores across seven prefectures, including Tokyo and Osaka. It combined Hamburg Steak, Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib, Kimchi, and Potato Salad, with a choice of Umatoma or Brown sauce. While this new 13-item nationwide lineup differs from that release in product composition, price, and availability, the trend of takeout items carrying the DELI name has continued at Matsuya’s stores since summer.
