Matsuya’s limited-time ‘Pork & Kimchi Set Meal’ (890 yen including tax), released on August 25, 2026, was removed from the menu page of Matsuya’s official website on September 29. It had been on the menu for 35 days, five weeks in all, as a limited-time set meal.

About a Month From Release to Delisting

The ‘Pork & Kimchi Set Meal’ was announced on August 20 as a summer menu item made with Matsuya’s in-house kimchi, and went on sale at 10:00 a.m. on August 25. During its run, its price and nutrition information changed several times. On August 29, four days after release, the Only price was raised from 650 yen to 690 yen, and on September 8 the energy value for the Regular Serving was revised upward from 815 kcal to 839 kcal. On September 22, a note reading ‘To be discontinued successively’ was added, and the item was delisted on September 29.

The set meal price of 890 yen including tax stayed unchanged from release to delisting.

Price Within the Set Meal Lineup

The ‘Pork & Kimchi Set Meal’ came in three sizes: the Set Meal at 890 yen, which includes rice and a salad; the Only size at 690 yen, without rice or salad; and the Double at 1,380 yen, with a larger portion.

At 890 yen, the set meal sits in the mid-range of Matsuya’s current set meal lineup. The Set Meal of Grilled Boneless Short Rib and the Set Meal of Grilled Beef share the same 890 yen, as does the Black Mapo Tofu Set Meal mentioned below. One step cheaper is the Stir-fried Pork and Eggplant with Spicy Miso Set Meal (880 yen), and one step more expensive are the Tomato Hamburg Steak Meal and the Set Meal of Hamburg Steak in Brown Sauce (1,180 yen), leaving a price gap between the 890 yen range and the 1,180 yen range of the hamburg steak items.

During the release week, from August 25 to September 1, a 70-yen discount (effectively around 820 yen) was also offered for orders placed through the app, such as Mobile Order. Around the same time, the Chicken Nanban Set Meal received a 70-yen discount, and the Black Mapo Tofu Set Meal, released afterward, received a 50-yen discount, so app-only discounts during the release week of new set meals have become a recurring pattern.

Black Mapo Tofu Set Meal Joins the Limited-Time Category

On September 29, the day the ‘Pork & Kimchi Set Meal’ was delisted, the ‘Black Mapo Tofu Set Meal’ (890 yen) joined the limited-time set meal category. The Black Mapo Tofu Set Meal went on sale at 10:00 a.m. the same day, and at the same 890 yen as the ‘Pork & Kimchi Set Meal’, it effectively took its place in the limited-time category.

Also on September 29, the ‘Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl’, released on August 11, was moved out of the limited-time category. However, it has not been delisted: it remains listed with the note ‘To be discontinued successively’ still attached. Matsuya’s official X account also posted on September 20 that ‘the Beef Short Rib & Offal Bowl will be discontinued soon.’ As the summer menu items that appeared in August head toward their exit, new September releases are entering the limited-time category, marking a seasonal changeover.
