On June 29, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) renewed its call to buy the July edition of the subscription pass “MATSUYA PASS (Matsuya Pass),” asking followers, “Have you gotten yours yet?” Three days after the pass went on sale at 10:00 a.m. on June 26, the account urged fans to act, saying, “This July pass works in the app too — you need to grab one!”

The post came with the line “I put it inside my phone case so I wouldn’t lose it,” accompanied by a photo of a MATSUYA PASS tucked into the clear case on the back of a smartphone. The blue-toned July pass reads “Works with the Matsuya App and ticket vending machines!” alongside a large “7 (July)” mark. The physical pass lists the discount amounts — 100 yen off Set Meals and 70 yen off items such as Beef Bowl — along with the valid period, from 0:00 on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 to 23:59 on Friday, July 31, 2026. In the bottom right corner, mascots Macky & Yakky appear with a “Fufu…” chuckle.

Priced at 200 Yen, Eligible Items Get Up to 100 Yen Off

The July edition of MATSUYA PASS marks a return following the March 2026 edition, with its launch announced in an official notice dated June 22 and on the official X account on June 26. It’s priced at 200 yen (tax included), and once purchased, it discounts eligible items an unlimited number of times throughout the valid period. Classic Set Meals get 100 yen off, while classic Beef Bowl, Bowl, and Curry and Rice items get 70 yen off.

Two things have changed since the previous edition. First, the pass is no longer limited to Matsuya alone — it now works across Matsuya Foods group chains, including Matsuya, Matsunoya, My Curry Shokudo, Shoken Chinese Dining, Matsutaro, Steak-ya Matsu, and Steak Set Meal Matsugyu. Second, in addition to holding a QR code up to a ticket vending machine, customers can now scan a QR code through the Matsuya App. The “works in the app too” point emphasized in this post refers to that update. The pass can be purchased through the Matsuya App (Matsuben Net and Matsuya Mobile Order) or at ticket vending machines, and supplies are limited.

Editor's Note

Three days after launch, even the account's own team keeps theirs tucked in a phone case. Slipping it into the case before the wallet might be more common than you'd think.
