Matsuya's Official X Spreads MATSUYA DELI's 'All Prepared Foods Price Cut' via a Store-Guessing Quiz
At 9:23 p.m. on October 27, 2026, Matsuya’s official X account (@matsuya_foods) posted a single nighttime storefront photo with the line “Which Matsuya Is This? (╹◡╹)”. The hashtags attached were “#AllPreparedFoodsPriceCut” and “#MATSUYADELI”. The post served as a follow-up in the evening, once again spreading word of the across-the-board price cut on all 13 MATSUYA DELI items that had begun at 3 p.m. that same day.
A Storefront Digital Sign Reading “All Prepared Foods, Price Cut”
The posted photo is framed looking up at the nighttime Matsuya storefront. A yellow sign displays the Matsuya logo alongside the English and Chinese text “Beef Rice Bowl 牛肉飯”. A digital sign (light box) set up outside the store carries the MATSUYA DELI logo — “Matsuya’s Takeout Side Dishes” — beneath a large headline reading “All Prepared Foods, Price Cut.” Round price tags read “Beef Plate DELI and other varieties, from 290 yen” with “80 yen off,” and “Yakiniku DELI and other varieties, from 450 yen” with “140 yen off.” Photos of beef plate and yakiniku dishes served in black containers are also visible, along with logos for various cashless payment methods, a FREE Wi-Fi notice, and an “OPEN” light on the glass door.
Matsuya has not disclosed which store appears in the photo, and no signage or place name that would identify it is visible, so the question of which store it is remains unanswered.
13 Items Cut by 80, 70, or 140 Yen
The price cut referenced by the hashtags began at 3 p.m. on October 27, 2026, at Matsuya locations nationwide (excluding some stores). It covers 13 items in the MATSUYA DELI takeout side dish lineup, with discounts split into three tiers: 80 yen off the beef plate items, 70 yen off the Beef Curry & Rice DELI, and 140 yen off the yakiniku and hamburg steak items.
| Item | Previous Price | New Price | Discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beef Plate DELI | 370 yen | 290 yen | 80 yen |
| Green Onion and Soft-boiled Egg Beef Plate DELI | 570 yen | 490 yen | 80 yen |
| Grated Radish Beef Plate DELI | 470 yen | 390 yen | 80 yen |
| Kimchi Beef Plate DELI | 470 yen | 390 yen | 80 yen |
| Cheese Beef Plate DELI | 570 yen | 490 yen | 80 yen |
| Tomato and Cheese Beef Plate DELI | 600 yen | 520 yen | 80 yen |
| Beef Curry & Rice DELI | 560 yen | 490 yen | 70 yen |
| Yakiniku Boneless Short Rib DELI | 690 yen | 550 yen | 140 yen |
| Yakiniku Beef DELI | 690 yen | 550 yen | 140 yen |
| Yakiniku Pork Loin DELI | 590 yen | 450 yen | 140 yen |
| Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce DELI | 650 yen | 510 yen | 140 yen |
| Umatoma Hamburg Steak DELI | 690 yen | 550 yen | 140 yen |
| Hamburg Steak with Brown Sauce DELI | 630 yen | 490 yen | 140 yen |
The sign’s “Beef Plate DELI and other varieties, from 290 yen” and “Yakiniku DELI and other varieties, from 450 yen” point to the cheapest items among the new prices — Beef Plate DELI and Yakiniku Pork Loin DELI, respectively. Note that stores with an attached My Curry Shokudo do not carry the Beef Curry & Rice DELI.
MATSUYA DELI only launched as a new lineup on September 1, 2026, making this the first price change since launch, arriving just under two months later. The last time a Matsuya-brand item’s announcement led with “price cut” in its title was the March 2012 retail price cut of the Yakiniku Pork Set Meal and the Stir-fried Pork with Ginger Soy Sauce Set Meal.
Two Point Campaigns Launched Alongside the Price Cut
Price wasn’t the only thing that moved on October 27. Matsuya designated the day as the “MATSUYA DELI Renewal Commemoration” and launched two point campaigns alongside the price cut.
The first is a 50-point grant exclusive to the official Matsuya Foods app, covering orders through Matsuben Net and Matsuya Mobile Order, running from 3 p.m. on October 27, 2026, through November 2. The second doubles the points earned on Matsuben Net orders picked up between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m., running from 2 p.m. on October 27, 2026, through November 9. The price cut and these two campaigns all arrived together in a single notification through the official Matsuya app that same evening. Rolling out a price revision and a point-earning boost at once amounts to a push behind the lineup as a whole.
A Campaign Hashtag Attached to the Regular Store-Guessing Quiz
“Which Matsuya Is This? (╹◡╹)” is the set phrase the official X account has repeated for its store-guessing quiz. The emoticon “(╹◡╹)” has also appeared in most of the past posts in this same format. In the past, however, “Which Matsuya Is This?” posts have either carried no hashtag at all, or only ones like “#Matsuya” or a hint about the store — never one naming a product or campaign the way this post does. This time, the product/campaign-name hashtags “#AllPreparedFoodsPriceCut” and “#MATSUYADELI” were attached, pairing the usual store-guessing quiz with a hashtag announcing the price cut.
The announcement text for the price cut itself contains no “Which Matsuya Is This?”-style question or emoticon; the quiz line was written specifically for this post. The announcement also refers to the covered items as “13 side dish items,” while the hashtag and the storefront sign both use the word “prepared foods.”

Editor's Note
Today's usual store-guessing quiz came with a side of price-cut promotion. With prepared foods starting at 290 yen, picking out tonight's dinner side dish just got a little easier.
