Matsuya to Run 50-Point Boost Campaign on 5 Curry Items Including Founding Beef Curry and Rice, Starting September 1
Matsuya will run the “Curry Bento Point Boost Campaign,” granting 50 Matsuya Points on five curry items, from 0:00 on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 to 23:59 on Monday, September 7, 2026. The eligible services are Matsuben Net and Matsuya Mobile Order; Matsuben Delivery is excluded. The point award is a flat 50 points regardless of which eligible item is ordered, and the campaign is one of several rolled out on the same day as part of a monthly rotation of campaigns.
Five items in the Founding Beef Curry and Rice lineup are eligible; the priciest curry is excluded
The items eligible for the point award are Founding Beef Curry and Rice, Cheese Founding Beef Curry and Rice, Founding Beef Karegyu, Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice, and Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice — five items in total. Each earns 50 Matsuya Points, and the eligible price is based on the Set Meal (which comes with rice and salad).
Of these, Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice (1,070 yen) is a store-limited item sold only at stores co-located with Matsunoya, making it the most limited in availability among the five eligible items. The Only option (560 yen), which comes without rice or salad, is explicitly excluded. Lunch Sets — the Founding Beef Curry and Rice Lunch Set (730 yen), the Cheese version (930 yen), the Hamburg Steak version (940 yen), and the Karegyu Lunch Set (1,000 yen) — are included.
Meanwhile, despite the campaign being named for “Curry Bento,” the most expensive curry currently on the menu, the Matsuya Original Sauce Roast Beef Founding Beef Curry and Rice (1,380 yen), is excluded. That item is a limited-time menu item that has been on sale since July 28, 2026, and has never been included in a curry-related point boost campaign to date.
A flat 50 points means a higher rate of return for cheaper items
Because the point award is a flat 50 points regardless of price, the ratio of points earned to price is higher for cheaper items. Based on Set Meal prices, the breakdown is as follows.
| Eligible Menu Item | Price | Value of 50 Points as a Share of Price |
|---|---|---|
| Founding Beef Curry and Rice | 680 yen | approx. 7.4% |
| Cheese Founding Beef Curry and Rice | 880 yen | approx. 5.7% |
| Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice | 890 yen | approx. 5.6% |
| Founding Beef Karegyu | 950 yen | approx. 5.3% |
| Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice | 1,070 yen | approx. 4.7% |
Between the cheapest item, Founding Beef Curry and Rice (680 yen), and the priciest, Founding Beef Loin Cutlet Curry and Rice (1,070 yen), the ratio to price differs by 2.7 percentage points. Looking purely at point efficiency, Founding Beef Curry and Rice offers the highest ratio among the Set Meals.
From “Curry Menu” to “Curry Bento” — the third such campaign
This marks the third time in 2026 that Matsuya has run a 50-point Matsuya Point campaign centered on curry. The previous two, both named the “Curry Menu Point Boost Campaign,” ran from April 14 to April 27 and from May 12 to May 18, and both granted 50 points as well. The structure of limiting eligibility to Matsuben Net and Matsuya Mobile Order is also unchanged from the previous two rounds; this time, only the campaign’s name has changed to “Curry Bento.”
The eligible items have also changed. The May campaign covered eight items, but Chunky Stewed Chicken Curry and Rice, Butter Chicken Curry and Rice, and Cream Butter Curry and Rice, all of which were eligible at the time, have since been discontinued and are excluded from this round. Umatoma Hamburg Steak Founding Beef Curry and Rice also ended sales on June 2. As a result, this round’s lineup has narrowed to five items that reflect the current curry lineup. The point award itself (50 points) has remained unchanged since the first round.
Campaign switchover at the turn of the month
This Curry Bento Point Boost campaign begins without a gap, replacing the “Matsuben Net Double Point Campaign” (0:00 on August 11 to 23:59 on August 31), which had been running until just before it. With the August campaign ending and the September one starting the very next day, multiple other campaigns beginning September 1 were also announced on the same date.

Editor's Note
The name changed to "Bento," but the substance is the same 50 points for the third time. If you're optimizing for return, the 680 yen Founding Beef Curry and Rice comes out on top on a price basis.
