Matsuya Suspends Official Website, App, and Matsuben Net for Emergency Maintenance
Matsuya announced emergency maintenance on its official X account (@matsuya_foods) at 10:41 PM on October 28. The post states that three services — the official website, the Matsuya App, and Matsuben Net — are currently down.
The full text of the post is as follows.
We are currently suspending the official website, Matsuya App, and Matsuben Net due to emergency maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
An in-the-moment post with no advance notice
This announcement went out only on official X, written in the present tense as “We are currently… due to emergency maintenance.” The three services listed as suspended are the official website, the Matsuya App, and Matsuben Net, and the apology closes with a single line: “We apologize for the inconvenience.” By contrast, official X posts on June 16 and 17 reporting past system glitches used longer apology language, such as “We deeply apologize for the great inconvenience and trouble caused” and “We offer our heartfelt apologies.”
Different in scope and format from July’s planned maintenance
Matsuya has carried out system maintenance before. On July 16, a notice titled “Notice of System Maintenance for the Official Matsuya App and Matsuben Net” was posted on the official website in advance, specifying the maintenance window as 12:15 AM to 10 AM (scheduled) on July 16 and listing the affected services as the official Matsuya App, Matsuben Net (web/mini-app), and Matsuben Delivery (web).
This time, instead of announcing a date and time in advance, Matsuya sent out an immediate notice at the moment the outage occurred, stating that services “are currently suspended.” The list of affected services now includes the “official website,” which was absent last time, and this round differs in scope from July’s planned maintenance in that three services — the official website, the Matsuya App, and Matsuben Net — are down simultaneously.
A flurry of MATSUYA DELI point campaigns just before the outage
Up until the maintenance announcement, Matsuya had been continuously posting about the MATSUYA DELI renewal. On October 28, it posted at 1:34 PM about the arrival of a new Matsuya PREMIUM item, “Shimanto Pork Stir-fried with Ginger Soy Sauce,” and at 6:30 PM it posted a campaign announcement on official X for a “MATSUYA DELI Renewal Commemoration” offering +50 Matsuya Points on purchases of eligible items.
Notices on the official website also announced three campaigns on October 26: one tripling Matsuya Mobile Order points earned between 2 PM and 11 PM, a MATSUYA DELI Point Boost Campaign, and one doubling Matsuben Net points earned between 2 PM and 11 PM. All three assume the use of the Matsuya App or Matsuben Net, meaning none of them can be used while these services are down during the current maintenance.
