Matsuya Delists Old-Price Pages for Beef Bowl Bento 2- and 3-Piece Sets, Consolidating into 900 Yen and 1,320 Yen

It has come to light that, by October 27, Matsuya’s official website menu had delisted the old-price versions of the Beef Bowl Bento 2-Piece Set (Regular Serving: 860 yen) and the Beef Bowl Bento 3-Piece Set (Regular Serving: 1,260 yen). This does not mean the bento sets themselves have been discontinued. The new-price versions (2-Piece Set Regular Serving at 900 yen, 3-Piece Set Regular Serving at 1,320 yen), which took effect with the price increase implemented on October 13, had been listed in parallel for about two weeks, and the old-price pages have now finally disappeared, consolidating everything into the new-price versions.

Consolidated into the New Price Following the Price Increase

The old and new pages shared the same product names, differing only in price. For the 2-Piece Set, the Regular Serving rose from 860 yen to 900 yen (+40 yen) and the Large Serving from 1,300 yen to 1,340 yen (+40 yen). For the 3-Piece Set, the Regular Serving rose from 1,260 yen to 1,320 yen (+60 yen) and the Large Serving from 1,920 yen to 1,980 yen (+60 yen).

In every case the increase works out to 20 yen per bowl, so the 2-Piece Set rises by 40 yen and the 3-Piece Set by 60 yen depending on the number of bowls in the set. This matches the flat 20-yen-per-bowl price revision on all Beef Bowl items that took effect at 3 PM on October 13. Under the same revision, the single-item Beef Bowl Regular Serving rose from 460 yen to 480 yen.

Old-Price Pages Stayed Listed in Parallel for 14 Days, While the Single Item Switched Same-Day

The pace of the price-increase rollout varied by menu item. For the single-item Beef Bowl, the old-price page was delisted and the new-price page listed on the very same day, October 13. For the Bento 2- and 3-Piece Sets, however, the old-price pages did not disappear when the new-price versions appeared on October 13 — both stayed listed side by side for 14 days. It was only now, on October 27, that the old-price versions disappeared, completing the switchover two weeks after the single item.

As of October 27, pages still showing pre-increase prices remain for some menu items, including the Morning Meal and side dishes, so the switchover to new-price versions is still proceeding in stages.

The Bento Sets Now Come in Just Two Sizes: 2-Piece and 3-Piece

The Beef Bowl Bento bulk-buy sets once came in four sizes — 2-piece, 3-piece, 4-piece, and 5-piece — and even included flavored variants such as Extra Green Onion with Spicy-Savory Soft-boiled Egg and Grated Radish with Ponzu Citrus Soy Sauce. But on July 14, 2026, the 4-Piece Set (1,640 yen), the 5-Piece Set (2,000 yen), and the flavored sets — 11 items in all — were delisted all at once, leaving only the plain 2-Piece and 3-Piece Sets. Even after the old-price versions disappeared this time, the new-price versions of these two items remain active, and bulk-buy ordering of the bento sets is still available.

Under the new prices, the per-bowl cost works out to 450 yen for the 2-Piece Set (900 yen total) and 440 yen for the 3-Piece Set (1,320 yen total). Compared with the in-store single-item Beef Bowl Regular Serving at 480 yen, the bento sets come out cheaper per bowl. The nutritional information for these two items was also updated on October 22, with figures such as salt equivalent rewritten.
